2nd Lieutenant Tomas Tait is being sent to The Bridge on a routine mission. His lover Captain Jace Rickert is worried; war could break out at any moment. After spending the night in each other's arms, Jace watches his boy leave the next morning with a heavy heart.
Soon afterwards, news breaks that war has started! Terrified, Jace waits for news about Tomas. When no news is forthcoming, he goes to his friend Major Max Keagan for help. When Jace learns that Tomas is listed as MIA, his world comes to a crashing halt.
Jace can't wait for the military to take action, this is Tomas, his boy, his love and he needs to get him back. He decides to look for Tomas himself, regardless of the consequences. So with help from his best friend, Captain Alden Romero he heads for the Front, the shores of the Hudson, which lead to The Bridge. Will Jace be able to find Tomas alive? Will he survive the journey himself?
J.M. Snyder has created a dark, war torn future with a strong and beautiful love story in the midst of it all. Jace is a great character; you’ll be pulling for him as he has his own obstacles to overcome throughout his journey. J.M.'s writing is wonderfully descriptive; I experienced much of the journey right along with Captain Rickert.
