The young man that’s washed up on the shores of Sirilon can’t remember his name or his life before awakening. Imagine his doubt and confusion when he’s told he’s now a talevé, a sacred consort for the Lady of the Waters and was saved from drowning by the Lady herself.
Olenwë, also a talevé, was a fisherman before he was called by the Lady and now enjoys his life of leisure and the freedom to have as many sexual relations with other men that he pleases. Olenwë though is drawn to the mysterious young man, who is later named Ninion, almost instantly.
Becoming is a beautiful tale of self discovery, sexual awakening and first love. Ms. Bryce has created a lush fantasy world filled with fascinating and interesting characters, I’ll never look at another male deer quite the same way again. Ninion’s friendship with Dyas, a younger talevé had me laughing at times and was very refreshing to read. So take the plunge and get lost in Becoming!
