The BCPI team is in Asheville, NC running an investigation with amateurs when they are asked to take on another case. This isn’t your average assignment, because in order to get to the Sunset Lodge you only have two choices. You either hike the trail or travel up the mountain on horseback.
An employee is missing, and several people at the lodge have spotted something tall, dark and scary in the woods leading to the area where they watch their breathtaking sunsets. The description is a little too close for comfort to the BCPI team, but it isn’t something they’ll ignore. Sam, Bo and Dean take the case and leave the rest of the team to finish up the ghost hunt with their amateur group.
The men arrive at the lodge and begin gathering information on the creature. With the odd feelings Sam gets, and the trouble Bo is having, they’re earnestly hoping that it isn’t a portal awaiting them. There’s more going on at the lodge than the possibility of a portal, and the men come face to face with a danger that Bo has never really experienced. It’s clear that all of their lives are at risk, and now they’ll have to hope that help arrives before anyone else at the Sunset Lodge lost.
