Alistair Simms is a 154-year-old vampire who lives by simple rules. One – never eat at the same place twice. Two – dinner is to be eaten not kissed. Three – dinner never sits on the chaise. Alistair’s has dedicated his undead years insuring the safety and well being of his familial. For generations it was an easy task, until Morton, his great nephew twice removed is kidnapped. Now Ali has to depend on the help of Samuel King to find his nephew.

After living amongst the English for sixteen years, Samuel King still possesses a purity and innocence. The Amish private detective’s reputation for finding missing people has brought Morton’s wife to his door step. Throughout the years, Sam has lived by his own set of rules, attempting to stay within his religious rearing. For him one rule above all else should not be broken - lay not with another man.

Sam’s investigation leads him to Ali. Both men realize there is an instant attraction. Each has tried to avoid relationships and intimacy that can lead to caring, for his own reason. But the force of true love will not be denied, and they find themselves breaking every rule they ever deemed important.

Bloody English is a fantastic book. The story captured my attention and kept me enthralled. The characters were realistically flawed, beset with internal and external obstacles. But through their love for each and faith, they discover no obstacle is too big if they have one another. There is action and suspense throughout the tale. The love scenes are potent and erotically entwined with messages on trust, love, sacrifice and commitment.Reneé George has definitely honed her craft. I have no doubt that readers of this genre will find the book brilliantly written.
