Growing up in St. Louis with an overbearing grandmother has taught Jedediah “Jed” Jones a few lessons. The most important is that Jed would take the open territory over city life any day of the week. When a document is delivered to Jed that provides the opportunity to claim land considered his birthright, he jumps for joy and eagerly sets out for Texas.
With a midnight deadline and only a few hours notice, Carrie has to determine what she’s willing to lose if the gain is the ranch she loves. Can Jed and Carrie work together to save the land they both love and hold dear?
Tanya Hanson transports us back to the Wild West, a period of hipbaths and open terrain in Midnight Bride. Jed is a good man, who prefers to not walk in another man’s shoes, but to create his own footprints in time. He is determined to claim his birthright and correct a few wrongs from the past, only to gain something he wasn’t seeking: love. Carrie is strong and dependable; she can work as hard as any man but always carries herself as a true lady. She walks into the situation with her eyes on the ultimate prize: becoming sole owner of Lazy Jazy. What blindsides her is the passion within that can be ignited at Jed’s whispered command. There were a few missteps where Jed is referred to by a different character name, but overall Midnight Bride was a treat to read.
