Tried of being portrayed as dreadful creatures, some monsters decide to come out and tell the human world the truth about themselves. As movies are their only information portal to the human world, Luke, Henry and Michael plan to make one about monsters. Nailing the divas at Calypso Productions was not in the plan, but when Luke catches the eye of creative director and producer Lena it gives a whole new meaning to his existence. Will Lena still help him when she finds out that she just had the best sex of her life with a real life monster?

Lena is a perfect example of a modern woman. She is totally comfortable with who she is. She has great pride and joy in her work and is happy with her circle of friends. I smiled secretly as she immediately offers to have dinner with dark and dangerous Luke. Outwardly, Luke may seem pretty sure of himself but on the inside, he is pretty clueless about human feelings and reactions. This uneven quality of his personality makes him more likeable. The attraction is immediate and intense, and the protagonists fall into each others arms before the reader can bat an eyelash. While instant sex should irritate the hell out of me, Ms. Dubois soothes the itch by developing the relationship beautifully complete with love and trust.

Ms. Dubois has skillfully infused freshness in her writing by tackling a topic that is comparatively new. After being overly bombarded with so many paranormal creatures, monsters seem fresh and intriguing. Their frantic attempts at learning everything about the human world are highly entertaining. Too much sex overshadows the plot and leaves questions in the reader’s mind. As this is just the first in the sexy Monsters in Hollywood series, I would expect the answers to eventually emerge from later installments.

Lights, Camera…Monsters sparkle with a bunch of deliciously hunky monsters and drags the reader into their new paranormal world with promises of more wicked fun. This is indeed an intriguing beginning and I hope we do get a lot more than that was said here. Get ready to be sexually charged with some monster loving!
