Achan is the youngest Steinsson and part of Durai’s pride. He is also missing and the pride is searching through Muncho Lake Provincial Park for some signs of the young lion. The discovery of Achan’s absence has caused tempers to flare and resentment to rear its ugly head.

Soon new arrivals have come to aid in the search. Tigris Sheer Ma’at, Rabi’a Asher and Pran Devan bring their special skills, hope, and determination all the things necessary to help find and save Achan. But their arrival also brings another twist to the already complex situation: a possibility of new mates for the Durai pride.

I fell in love with the characters Jade Buchanan created in the first Pridelands series and was blissful after reading The Pridelands 3: Sheer's Choice. Rais has been feeling the effects of having those around him mated, and his attitude stinks because of it. Rabi’a is still coping with the fact of not being maternal enough to care for her own daughter. Then we come to Sheer, a Tigris with a heart of gold and a loving spirit. He has never known what it is to have a family of his own, but is more than willing to find out.

I am anxiously awaiting Khalid’s story, but I have a feeling the giant with the gentleness few know he possesses will not meet his heart mate for a while. I have to say in this story I saw more of his true nature and he has become my favorite character. If you enjoyed the previous of the Pridelands series, The Pridelands 3: Sheer's Choice will have you laughing and overjoyed for the characters destined to find heart mates. Jade Buchanan is a natural at creating believable characters and stories that reach out to the reader.
