The Rivals is the first story in the Settler’s Mine series. Layla is a woman of many talents. Not only is she strong of mind and body, she is a trained spy. Coming to terms with finding her heartmates was difficult when Layla considered the danger awaiting her mates. Orion and Balt have been battling for years. Each is strong, determined, and resourceful. I laughed so hard at the moment when they discovered they were heartmates. Watching the good natured ribbing they gave was entertaining, but knowing they would be joined as mates was priceless. Mechele Armstrong has written a wonderful story filled with action, hot erotic scenes, and characters that make you drool, laugh, and smile. The Rivals was a wonderful change from the normal polyamorous stories, and I’m looking forward to the next book in this fascinating series.
