Arden has become an assassin who will kill anyone without any remorse or second thought to life. Her loyalty belongs to Darkriver, the people who kidnapped her at a very young age and trained her to be an efficient assassin. Now that she has been with Aniketos for days her return to the fold may not be so welcoming without recourse to her. Can she accept all that he has to offer her or will she find a way to keep him dead?

Aniketos, an immortal thief, knows who Arden is and wants her like there is no tomorrow. He knows she has been sent to kill him and waits for her to enter into his domain. While he has her confined without clothes in his condo, he allows her freedom because she can not escape and will bend to his will eventually. Knowing that it will cost him everything, he does the impossible to save the one he loves more than anything else in the world.

Strangers in The Night: Like a Thief in the Night is an extraordinary read and who can fault an immortal thief for wanting more out of life. These two lovers are very surprising in their seductions and the sacrifices they make towards each other and I love how they are determined to resist what is natural, given the circumstances. From beginning to end there was always something happening that would keep you reading; wanting to know what was next on the agenda of romance. Bettie Sharpe writes beautifully of mystery, intrigue and very hot sex in this book.
