Talia, short for Natalia, is so confused about her parents not wanting her to venture far from home; yet want her to met a nice man and have children. The night before she is to leave home, she is kidnapped by the orcs. When she awakens she realizes that she is tied to a wall and when she looks into Calion’s eyes, her rescuer, she knew she was in love with him. Her disbelief of how he rejected her time and time again finally took its toll on her.

Calion Saralonde who is the Prince of the Calentaur Elves is responsible for checking the faerie Myst wall that keeps apart humans and Faeries for any disturbances. On his way home he senses that there is movement that requires his inspection. When he finds out that Talia was able to see or feel magick because she is not elven, it really disturbed him because of his beliefs and he was holding on to traditions and legends regarding Humans very hard.

Eyes of Fire was a fabulous read for me. All of the different emotions, fighting and deceit going on made it even more enjoyable. What Calion and Talia go through because of their love is incredibly heart-breaking with the rejections, hate and betrayal from among the Elven people. C J England has written a wonderful story of elves, orcs and humans that are either trying to destroy each other or fulfill a prophesy. Each person involved made it more realistic to believe and I am looking forward to reading the next book in The Mylari Chronicles series.

After years of dealing with a broken heart, Richard finally has to face his ex-lover Sydney. This is his final mission before he retires and he’s ready to start a new chapter in his life. Someone forgot to send Richard the script and he finds himself in Sydney’s bed, a place he never wanted to travel to again. Their relationship ended on a sour note and Richard has no desire to hear Sydney’s explanations. Sydney, on the other hand, knows this might be her only chance to regain Richard’s love. Sydney is ready to share her secrets with Richard and reclaim her position in his heart.

Michelle Hasker brings fireworks and secrets in The Agency: Bear’s Den. I refuse to give this story away, but I guarantee you won’t see this plot unfolding. Richard is a grizzly bear with the heart of a teddy bear locked inside. Sydney is just the woman to share his den and love. I wasn’t even upset with Richard when I discovered the reason behind his anger and mistrust of Sydney. Nevertheless, when I read her side of the story, I started wishing her the best in getting Richard to listen and forgive. There’s a balance of romance, action, and suspense that is sure to please.

As a young child, Dave Blanchard ended up in foster care, forcing him to become self-reliant at an early age. Puberty brought more changes to his life when he discovered he was gay and then he hit a growth spurt. Alone, and without anyone to talk to forced him further into his shell, making the already introverted young man even more quiet and withdrawn. And things didn’t get better as an adult. At nearly seven and a half feet tall, people point and stare whenever he leaves his house, making him glad that his job as a web designer allows him to work from his home.

Still, he’s lonely and in need of physical contact and companionship, so he places an ad with an online matchmaking service. The first date is bad, and the second doesn’t show, but on the walk home he runs into Micah, a man who lived in the same foster care home. Micah was his straight forbidden teenage crush, and now they have the chance to re-new their old friendship, which puts him firmly off limits. That doesn’t stop Dave’s feelings from growing, and when Micah’s life is endangered his inhibitions are lowered, and he does something which could destroy their relationship forever.

I enjoyed reading Precious Ache for a variety of reasons. It brought to mind the difficulties children have growing up in the foster care system when they have no one they trust to depend on. It also made me realize the problems people experience who don’t fit the cultural norms, whether it is height or weight, when trying to find that special someone. And let’s not forget how the public in general reacts to make them feel unimportant or insecure. But mostly I liked this thought provoking gay romance because of the nice men the characters of Dave and Micah are. They might have gone in different paths once they’d left their foster home, but they still felt enough of a bond to renew their relationship, and to allow it to grow into something unique and special. It was a joy to see them as friends first, watching TV, going to the races, or just hanging out together because they liked each other’s company. And it was a little sad how Dave tried to keep his feelings to himself, thinking Micah was straight. Yet, in the end, these two lovable guys have their warm and fuzzy happily-ever-after.

At the age of thirty-four, Micah Souther is a junior owner in the company Manning, Albright and Souther. He enjoys bike riding with his friends and driving his 1969 Mustang Mach 1. He also finds himself attracted to his new employee, Jonas, but isn’t sure if the man is straight or gay.

Jonas Chadwick still has an athletic form at the age of forty-eight. Having been in a long term loving relationship that ended devastatingly a few years ago and not being one for casual sex or one night stands, Jonas feels he’s still not ready to become involved with anyone new.

During a chat over coffee, Jonas accepts Micah’s invite to go bicycling with him and his friends later that evening. Micah, unable to help himself, drops a few hints that he’s attracted and interested in getting to know Jonas better. After spending time with Jonas, Micah finds himself even more attracted to the man who seems to have an air of sadness and loneliness about him. Upon returning to Micah’s house for a bite to eat, he finally gets his wish when Jonas kisses him passionately. Micah’s disappointed though when Jonas backs off and leaves telling him he’s not ready.

Passion’s Victory is a touching, thoughtful and realistic love story of two men meeting at very different stages in their lives. KC Kendricks has again created two terrific and very likable characters in Micah and Jonas who I found myself rooting for all the way. I highly recommend this book to all fans of the m/m romance genre.

Detective Sergeant Chandra Hunt has worked hard to earn her rank. She never knew her real family, and has just a few people that have taken on the roles of loved ones in her life. Chandra’s best friend is missing and all trails lead to a hedonistic adult club called Foreplay. Unbeknown to Chandra, she has just delivered herself into the waiting fangs of Sin-Bad Stoner, a vampire.

Sin took one look at Chandra and knew she had to be his. He has lived too long to accept a relationship on anyone’s terms except his own. Chandra’s will and independence forge a battle like none Sin has ever fought. The centuries past devastation ravished Sin, making love and marriage count as human frailties. However, Chandra has other things in mind and doesn’t want to settle for less.

Night of Sin brings hot sex and overwhelming compulsion to our doors. I loved Chandra's strong determined character. She was a woman who knew what she wanted, and fought to gain it with sheer will and hard work. To see her actually perform the job that she fought so hard to gain would have been an extra-added bonus. Sin left a slightly bad taste in my mouth. His arrogance had me doing eye rolls and his lack of consideration surely made my head spin. While I understand he was centuries old and set in his ways, I really wanted Chandra to flip him the bird, fling a shoe at him, or just flat get a grip and get over him. Yes, he had some redeeming qualities after some point, but through at the least one-hundred and seventy pages, I found myself wanting to see him staked. Night of Sin is not your average love story where the man actually says he loves you, but some of Sin's actions prove that he cares for Chandra more than he is willing to admit. Furthermore, if you are anything like me, you will find yourself rooting for one of the other characters to gain Chandra's hand instead of Sin-Bad.

Even though she was a beautiful, successful black woman, Samantha had not had any decent dating prospects in over three years. Here she was knocking on thirty’s doorstep and her biological clock was ticking like crazy. The men that seemed workable at first turned out to have some kind of issue. An evening out at a club brings Ian into Samantha’s life and gives her a new perspective about men.

Ian is more than just a sexy band member who happens to be watching Samantha like she is the best thing since sliced bread. He’s also a lawyer, who is single, and definitely searching for the perfect woman and he thinks he has found that in Samantha. Ian knows he has his work cut out for him by trying to develop a relationship with her and he refuses to be frightened off by her resistance.

Samantha represents many women who are trying to find a good man and coming up short. She was definitely in lust with Ian but very fearful to give her heart to him. Her independence and stubborn attitude was almost the downfall to their relationship and I wanted to shake Samantha so badly. Everyone could sense that Ian was over the moon for Samantha, except Samantha. Thank goodness Ian never gives up and the couple works through their problems. Many of the problems they had could have been avoided. Best Made Plans is a wonderful love story about the ups and downs of a couple. The sex was steamy and there were so many cute scenes between Ian and Samantha that my heart melted. Nia Foxx has done it again.

Sebastian ven Hester, the Captain of the ship Naurus, is a war-hero and decorated for it. He has faced just about everything except his own emotions. Recently divorced from his husband Kirk, he isn’t ready to take on a relationship; until one night with his pilot, Jason North. North and Seb have a night of passion but Seb ends it rather quickly, hurting North. North had a previous relationship with another member of the Naurus crew, Jatila Kan, the engineer. North thought it was just casual sex but Jati thought it was more. North had ended it, saying that there was someone else. Jati didn’t know it was their Captain.

The three of them have to face their worst enemy, the alien Karhal; a vicious creature that threatens to take their lives and the lives of their passengers. Despite their differences and the past, they have to work together to kill the Karhal before reaching their destination.

This was an interesting read though it did have its confusing points. I still don’t understand what the BRAIN is or even how the alien got onto the ship. There is no direct sex content though it is talked about, which is fine if you don’t want to read about the intercourse itself. This book is great if you are interested in blow-them-up sci-fi stories. I found the love triangle a great hook because I thought it was going to be more than it was. It was a nice surprise.

Freya Daniels is a bounty hunter and one of the strongest females out there. However now, she’s stuck playing escort to a bunch of rebellious young female wolves. She’s just about as bored as she could possibly get until it’s time for the males to show off their prowess in battles. Acting as one of the guards for said battles, Freya finds herself the subject of an intense gaze from a beautiful wolf. Later, while relaxing in a hot tub to ease her aches, Freya gets up close and personal with him. It isn’t until later that she finds he comes with a super-dominant Alpha. They both have exactly what she needs… if only she can accept that for herself.

When you open a Mya book, you can expect two things. One, werewolves will most likely be involved, and two, you’ll fall in love with the characters within seconds. A Guardian’s Desire is no exception.

From the first scene, I knew Freya was a woman not to be trifled with, and what a breath of fresh air it is to have a true-to-God kickass heroine. She’s hot, she’s strong, and she doesn’t take anything from anyone. Rayne and Fenris couldn’t be more perfect mates for her. Rayne is sweetly submissive and Fenris is a true alpha like only Mya can write. The three of them together is beyond explosive, and almost more than this poor computer of mine could handle.

If you’ve read any book Mya, then you’ll love A Guardian’s Desire. If you haven’t read anything by her… Then, my God, why not?!

Soldier was a good read. Once the story grabbed my attention, it held my attention. The story did start a little slow, however it picked up and held me in my chair till I was done with the book. I recommend Soldier by Dee Carney for those who have the patience to wait out a slow start, but a fast paced, attention-grabbing ending. Good Read!

They introduce themselves and go to Christian’s apartment. After making love most of the night, Denny promised he would call. At fifteen, JT Pierce was the star of a hit TV show and had the world in his hands. Every teenybopper magazine had his face on it; every teenage girl had his poster on her wall. But then the show went on hiatus, and JT wouldn’t lower himself to bit parts or commercials. Slowly, his star faded from view.

Seven years later, JT is Johnny Thomas, who hopes to jumpstart his career by hiring his former manager, Lou Merrin. He wants to do serious movies, a huge blockbuster or two, and claim one of those coveted Oscars for himself. But Lou cautions Johnny about the paparazzi, who can make or break a star, and he’s heard rumors of Johnny’s sexuality that might prevent him from landing those desired leading roles. Still, Johnny’s nothing if not persistent, and he swears he’ll play it straight. Until he meets Brett, a photographer who turns his life—and his heart—upside down.

Beautiful Liar is the story of former child star Johnny Thomas who, like many out-of-work stars, wants to get back in the limelight. And like many stars, Johnny is a diva. At least at first. We’re given glimpses into Johnny as he goes to his ex-manager, going from demanding another chance to being chastised like a little boy for doing nothing with his life since his earlier stardom. It should have been an insightful moment to the insecure young man beneath the sulk. Except, I just didn’t see him. It’s not to say that that young man wasn’t there, no. But it was that Johnny himself was so annoying in his ‘I deserve to be a star’ mentality, I just couldn’t like him.

He is redeemed somewhat when he meets and falls for Brett Cary, a freelance photographer with an addiction to his camera and racy shots, which gives us a glimpse into the possible that Johnny is a little deeper than he first comes off. Unfortunately, I wasn’t too much of a fan of Brett either. He was a cute flirt but there didn’t seem much else to him. They tumble into a whirlwind romance. And it was very sweet and tender…until the racy photos started. Actually, the photos begin before the romance, which baffled me, especially with Johnny’s sort of off tepid reaction to them. But the plot thickens as we’re given two things that do not mix: up-and-coming star and nude photos. To J.M.’s credit, for a short story, it was very well-written. The buds of love aren’t put out there like most romantic shorts tend to do but built at a satisfying pace.

Wonderful, Snyder-style sex scenes and a decent plot that is driven by Hollywood’s need to humanize its celebrities that I could have enjoyed…if I’d liked the characters more. And honestly…I found the ending to be a bit of a cop out, like that old saying ‘Love conquers all’. It didn’t connect with the rest of the story, which, even with my disdain for the characters, was still good.

In this reviewer’s opinion, the plot was better developed than the characters. Still, I do recommend this for those looking for a quick, somewhat satisfying read and give it a solid three Nymphs.

Aubrey St. Clair, Viscount Rothton, is attending Lady Whittington’s ball in the hopes that he will see the man of his dreams Daniel Blake, the Earl of Graystone, again. It has been ten years since Aubrey and Daniel last saw each other at university; they had a brief sexual encounter, then Daniel was called home. Aubrey never forgot their budding love. Daniel too remembers his desires for Aubrey, but had buried those feelings to lead the kind of life the ton expected aristocratic gentlemen to lead. When Daniel walked into the ballroom and saw Aubrey, all those buried feelings came back to the surface. Finding it impossible to resist Aubrey, they return to Daniel’s home. After a night of making love, Daniel again is determined to hide his true feelings and push Aubrey away.

Another Chance is a breathtaking story of forbidden love in a prejudiced society where the public facade must be maintained. Daniel is afraid that his love for another man, if revealed, will have a negative impact on the future of his children. Aubrey also has fears but is confident that he and Daniel can be discreet with their love. Shawn Lane has produced an excellent heart warming plot with sensual characters that I enjoyed immensely.

Alain Magnier is a powerful wizard who has lost his wife and small son in the war with the evil Dark Wizards. He, and others like him, are fighting a losing battle to save the world from slipping into one filled with death and chaos. Desperate for allies, their leader has contacted the leader of the Paris vampires in hopes of a meeting to explain why the two groups should work together.

Orlando St. Clair is a vampire who is emotionally wounded after being abused and tortured for a hundred years by his maker. He’s quiet, sad, uncertain, and not the type of man you’d expect to be involved in intricate negotiations with another magical race.

These two men are chosen by their leaders to meet in a gloomy Paris graveyard to discuss an alliance. Despite their mutual attraction, they are still leery of the motives of the other, until Alain does the unexpected and offers Orlando a sip of his blood as an expression of good faith. It is this contact that changes their lives forever when a bond forms between them, and it changes the potential of the alliance as well. Bonded pairs of vampires and wizards would make very powerful fighting teams, if they can get the members of the two groups to forget their past differences and preconceived ideas.

Alliance in Blood is the first novel by Ariel Tachna that I’ve had the opportunity to read, and I’ll tell you up front that I enjoyed it thoroughly. This emotionally charged paranormal tale grabbed my attention at the beginning and kept me reading until I reached the last page…all in one night. I loved the concept of an uneasy alliance between these two groups to fight a mutually dangerous foe. Ms. Tachna did a wonderful job crafting their world and making it believable, using skill, interesting personalities and vivid descriptions. While the backbone of the story is the fight against the Dark Wizards, it is the connection…the new found love between Alain and Orlando, and the other newly formed vampire/wizard partnerships that propel it forward.

Alain and Orlando are a sexy couple who live in vastly different worlds, but they come together in love, tenderness and passion. Their union is strong, soul deep and made to last an eternity, especially after they bind themselves together using ancient magic. I, for one, look forward to seeing what happens to them and the other vampire/wizard partnerships in the forthcoming books in this four-book series. Look for the next release in the Partnership in Blood series with Covenant in Blood.

Thomas Carter is talking on the phone to his publisher Sandra; he is tired of hiding his true identity. Thomas is a top selling male/male romance author published under the name of Rose Carter and Sandra wants to continue to hide the truth from the public, fearing loss of revenue. Thomas has another very strong reason why he wants to reveal his identity, Matt Malone. Matt is a fellow author with the same publisher; they met in the chat room and continued to chat via e-mails. Matt admires Rose but is confused as to why he is so attracted to a female; Matt is openly gay and writing in the genre he knows best. Thomas is having sexual fantasies about Matt, and is desperate to tell Matt he too is a gay male. When Thomas gets an offer to have his latest book made into a movie, Sandra plans a coming out party at the writer’s convention to be held in Honolulu. Matt is excited to meet Rose, but Thomas is afraid Matt will hold his deception against him. When they finally meet, sparks fly and not in a good way.

Black Point is a wonderful story of living a lie and how sometimes those lies can come back to bite you at the worst possible time. Thomas has hit a writer’s block that has more to do with his being depressed over hiding his true identity from a man with whom he feels a real connection. By reading Matt’s books and through internet communications, Thomas has gained insight into the real man of Matt and desires to further that soul connection in an up close and personal way. Matt is already in love with the person he knows as Rose but in his heart, the image of Rose is always male. Matt is happy that Rose is indeed a male named Thomas, but hurt that Thomas deceived him all this time. The incomparable talents of A.J. Llewellyn and D.J. Manly have united to produce this fantastic insight into their world of public image versus true identity. The publisher manipulates the authors into her out-of-date opinion of what the public wants, rather than comprehend that it is the author’s ability to write that sells. Black Point is actually a story within a story with sensual short excerpts from Matt’s books. This is a very creative and attention-grabbing plot with well developed characters except for this one key interloper who is an intriguing mystery that leaves the story’s door open, giving me the impression that there will be more of this happy for now cliffhanger coming in the future.

Detective Paul Jensen was a swinger. He swore never to commit to anybody but himself and his job. Paul never thought he would find himself in love with any woman but his mother and his sister; maybe his partner Liam but on a strictly friendly basis.

Nurse Celeste Kowolski was closed off from love; in fact, she was closed off from all emotion. Her ex-husband had tossed her heart in the blender and hitting puree when he decided he needed a young, blonde, bimbo who could make his blood pressure rise to dangerous levels. Why couldn’t Celeste find someone to make her blood pressure rise and her toes curl?

As chance happens, Celeste decides to step out of her box and invites a gentleman from the bar home. She changed her mind and wanted the evening to be nice and full of talk. However, the “gentleman” thought otherwise and tried to attack her.

Paul Jensen came to the rescue from his upstairs apartment, wearing nothing but his skivvies and a pair of socks.

Is the upstairs neighbor too young to be her one and only? Is he even interested? Could Celeste bring the wall around her heart down long enough to let Paul in?

Ms. Keaton hit the nail on the head with this story. It grabbed me from the beginning and held me all the way through. The sex was hot, and the characters hotter. Highly recommended read!

The spaceship Orion was supposed to be at its planet of destination days ago, but unexpected security checks delayed its departure. The delay puts everyone at risk when the Tygean navigator, Commander Tryon Jag, goes into his yearly mating cycle days away from the safety of his home planet. His uncontrollable mating instincts will drive him crazy if he can’t find a suitable shift mate, and he is the only one capable of piloting the ship through the deadly Cattarus asteroid belt. When the problem is revealed to the crew, young Tygean interpreter Calla Fellura offers herself as the vessel to pacify his raging mating lust. What everyone doesn’t know is that Jag’s mating shift isn’t the only thing endangering the flight and crew. There’s also a lone traitor on board poised to use a bio-weapon to destroy the ship. If they can’t control both situations, everyone on board will die.

Tyger, Tyger Buring Bryght is a fast-paced, sexy futuristic paranormal story. The characters of Tryon and Calla are strong-willed and independent, and Ms. Cade’s descriptive details make them nearly jump off the page. Together they are passion, lust and fire, but the story doesn’t end there. When you throw in a traitorous eco-terrorist bent on destroying the ship, you have all the elements needed for an enjoyable afternoon read. But that isn’t the end of the story, for the last quarter of the book is the true culmination, when Tryon realizes he can’t live without his little mate, and he has to work to get her back.

Ana is sister to Cam and seven other brothers whom she has taken care of for years since their parents were not able to. She has always been the one to keep the peace among her brothers and others that are close to the family. Now that her enforcer powers are growing stronger, there is much she wants to do to help Appolion work through his separation with his brother Abdiel and twin Rachael.

Appolion has been alone, on the run, for years and hiding from everyone looking for him, including his father. When he finally meets up with Ana, they are already in love with each other and both still try to resist their emotions in order to stay focused on why she is there. The fact that he is the Destroyer in the Order of the Four was one of the main reasons he was fighting to stay away from any angels until he accepted his fate.

Rogue Angel, the third book in the Archangel Series, is leading up to a huge battle between Heaven and Hell, which will cause division between all angels because of the dissention. When Appolion finally accepted the love of his siblings, it was life-changing for the three of them as they were used to abuse and betrayal all the time from their parents. There’s so much deceit within the council that it’s causing problems for the Chief of the Archangels who knows that there was no way to stop the fighting.

This was a wonderful story written by Stephani Hecht, who created so many different personalities for each of her characters that they needed each other to survive. It was a fantastic book that is leading up to something none of the angels really want because there will be great losses for everyone and the humans will suffer even more because there may not be any angels to protect them from the demons of hell.

Gorgeous hunk Sam Coles is a rising star in 1955 Hollywood and his newest movie, The Devil Inside, is thought to be the break-out role of his young career. He’s looking forward to the start of filming until he learns that Elijah McKinley has landed the role of his ‘bad boy’ brother. Sam knows Eli’s professional reputation is excellent, but he also fears that his attraction to the man will be discovered when the two are working closely on the set. It’s not long after filming starts that both Eli and Sam give in to their mutual attraction and desire. Soon they are quietly and carefully spending as much time together as possible, hoping not to be discovered. But even the potential danger to their careers doesn’t stop their love from growing. The biggest problem confronting them is what they are going to do when shooting wraps and their lives go in separate directions.

Jamie Craig has penned another winning gay romance with their latest release, Star Attraction, set in 1950’s Hollywood. Both Elijah and Sam are talented, gorgeous hunks, trying to live their lives in the often uncomfortable and intrusive fishbowl of media popularity. Having to hide their sexual preferences only makes things more difficult, forcing them into dating attractive starlets for the sole purpose of appearing ‘straight’. This story gave me a real appreciation for what men and woman in the limelight went through in the past, and still do today, to protect their lives and careers from the fear and hate of others. Watching Eli and Sam skulk around so they could be together made me sad and unhappy, but it also made me glad for the changes that have occurred in our world since the mid-1950’s. Yet, in spite of all their fear of discovery, Sam and Eli still came together in blistering hot passion, but above all, in tenderness and love.

I liked these two guys from the very beginning, and only wished them well as they tried to juggle their careers, hiding their growing attraction and love. This endearing story caught and held my attention from the opening paragraph and kept it till the very last word. These men are two great characters alone and when together they are perfect. I would love to see them again in a follow up story at a later date.
