Victor Bayne’s life is in turmoil…as usual. He and his sexy boyfriend, fellow PsyCop Jacob Marks, have bought an old cannery building, and are setting up housekeeping together in the large remodeled space. He never imagined that packing and moving into a new home could be so stressful, but at least the ghost of the previous owner has moved out, as she agreed. Living with Jacob has a lot of perks and the sex is still phenomenal. Now if he can get his friends to forget the terrifying idea of a housewarming party, he’ll be thrilled. Adding to his emotional upheaval is his inability to find any evidence of his or Camp Hell’s existence, and a spectral rapist and assorted spirits at a local nursing home.

Secrets is the fourth release in Ms. Prices’ popular and ongoing PsyCop series and it takes up shortly after the previous book left off. This tale of Vic and Jacob has two secrets that keep this tightly constructed story flowing fast and furious. Who is raping a dementia patient in a local nursing home, and why can’t Vic find any evidence of his life or Camp Hell on the internet? It’s as if neither ever existed and he doesn’t understand why. Ms. Price does a nice job in describing Vic’s determination to discover what happened to the facility that tortured him, and others, in the name of science and who is following him. Vic’s emotions are still all over the spectrum and buying a house and moving in with Jacob is causing him more stress than he expected. Jacob is still his constant, his calm center… loyal, determined and dedicated to his job and his love of Vic. These two men are such polar opposites that on the surface, you never expect them to connect, yet they fill the physical and emotional needs of the other. And the sex is still as hot and steamy as ever. Add in assorted ghosts, victims, and ongoing great secondary characters and you have all the components needed for a keeper book, in a keeper series.
