After major devastation, life on Earth is starting to turn around when a signal from space is picked-up unexpectedly. The government has set up means to gather and decipher all incoming messages. One day, a ship shows up. Now the race is on to find out what is out there and what it means to Earth.
Elios is a linguist for the Pandora Project, trying to recover from a nasty break up. Elios has a friend arrange for him to get a ride in one of the projects fighter jets. To his surprise, he feels an instant attraction to the pilot taking him up. Sender is a pilot for the project, and training new cadets as well as making sure his own squadron stay ready keeps him busy. Too busy to worry about how being gay would not only be failing his family but also, as he had been taught, send him to hell. Between scheduling problems, a pain in the ass ex and interfering squad members, the feelings between the two men grow. Just when it looks like everything is working out tragedy strikes.
Anyone who loves sci-fi will love Anah Crow and Dianne Fox’s Pandora Project: Runaway Star. The vivid descriptions pull the reader into the world in which these men live. I read this book late into the night because I could not wait to see how everything between the men and the project worked out. Without giving away too much I would like to say that I sincerely hope to see a sequel very soon.
