Peter and Jake have found themselves in a situation where the desire has filtered out. So when Peter overhears a startling conversation between Jake and his best friend, he decides to show his man their love is still there.
Valentine’s Day Surprise did two things: it shocked me and made me laugh. Jake and Peter have suddenly found themselves at an impasse where their love life and everything in between has gone stale. So Peter decides to do something that will get Jake’s attention. What both shocked me and made me laugh was how drastic Peter decided to go with his attempts of seduction. I didn’t know whether to be appalled or just to laugh at the man’s desperation. The story moves along with ease, but I was left disappointed with the lack of tension in the story, with a premise like lovers falling into a rut it generates a lot of angst, but being a Valentine story, I suppose the author wanted to make it sweet and heart-warming. Whilst that aspect didn’t work for me for this story – Valentine’s Day Surprise was an interesting read.
