Aketa is scarred from an accident on her family’s farm that killed her older brother. She constantly hides her face and keeps to herself because she is more comfortable on the farm alone than around other people, including her family. She is surprised when she is one of those picked to undergo the final tests.
Bound is a story of two people trying to find themselves, once they are outside their comfort zones. Both see something in the other but fight against the feelings of inadequacy they have. I got engrossed in the story as it progressed and did not want it to end. Ms. Dubois has a good understanding of the darker aspects of the BDSM life.
