Leander Mayfield has just landed in England after five grueling weeks at sea. As the last surviving member of his family, he has inherited the title of Earl of Dearborne from a long, lost relative. Hoping for a fresh start, the last thing Leander wants is for anyone to see him as weak and frail. After receiving numerous invitations to balls, Leader attends one, only to meet the interesting Julien Sutcliffe
As Earl of Blackstone, Julien, unashamed of who he is, is used to being the center of gossip. With no plans to marry, or ever lose his heart to anyone again, Julien makes sure he never wants for companionship. While attending his aunt’s ball, Julien is surprised to see that the new American Earl is someone he has admired from afar. Julien is intrigued with Leander from the very beginning and when the two men give in to their desires, neither realizes how much their lives are about to change.
The Desire for Dearborne is a great historical by VB Kildaire. This wonderful book is a must-have for those who love historicals. Set in England during the early 1800’s, the author tells the story of a young American forced to face many changes in his life. It isn’t until he meets Julien that he realizes that the one thing he craves is something he can really have. The author does an excellent job bringing these characters to life for the reader. This book is also full of characters we love to see in historicals. There are the nosy, interfering family and friends who think they know what’s best for Julien and Leander. The diabolical relative up to no good and of course, the many other characters add to this wonderful story. This story is entertaining from the very beginning, with a twist at the end that I am sure few will see coming.

Thank you so much for such a kind review. The Regency has always be one of my favorite time periods in history and loved writing the book, so I'm glad you enjoyed reading it.
