Believing Matt is guilty has been difficult for Shayne. The man he loves could never commit such a crime, but the evidence was irrefutable. When Matt shows up seeking help, Shayne has to decide if he wants to help the man he still loves or uphold his position as a police officer.
Deceived is a well-written suspenseful story about a police officer who had his life snatched away from him. I couldn’t imagine spending time behind bars and yet, that’s just what Matt had to do. The psychological damage done to Matt was more dealing with the betrayal of those closest to him, by not standing by his side, than the treatment the former officer received in prison. If you enjoy contemporary M/M police stories then you should read Deceived.
