Barry’s life improved the moment he arrived in Strange Hollow. The blind vampire has a sense of security being surrounded by friends and protected by his Seeing Eye dog Angelica, whose wicked sense of humor keeps things interesting. Barry doesn’t want interesting; he wants the carnal delights he hopes to gain in his neighbor’s arms.

Anthony has watched Barry and longed to spend time with the man he admires for his independence and strength. Asking Barry out is much easier than revealing the truth about why he has opted to live in Strange Hollow. When he divulges the truth will Barry accept him or will Anthony once again be alone?

Not Seeing is Believing the latest tale of the Strange Hollow series gives a nice spin on vampires. T. A. Chase has created characters with very human flaws that draw you into this story. Barry isn’t your typical vampire. If you remove the fact that he’s blind from the equation, his characteristics are different from those I’ve usually associated with vampires. He doesn’t use physical strength to overcome his everyday dilemmas; instead he uses his mind and ability to read people by listening to them intently. He uses his senses to understand what his vision can no longer discern.

Anthony’s story reminds me of some of the horrible stories I’ve recently read in the news. He seems willing to move forward and allow his neighbors to begin to know him. It’s clear the couple gains power through their union, which will help them to live a happy life in Strange Hollow. Those looking for a not so typical paranormal need look no further.
