For Cory Dylan, time in Hell is his chance to have the existence he missed while living. He’s eliminated negative vices and works hard as a bartender at Ice Water in Hell. Some of the patrons may not agree with his views, but Cory stands up for what he believes in.

Tao Kemoeatu has enjoyed the view of Cory while working as the bouncer at the bar but he wants more than a quick hello. He knows his size intimidates others, but hopes that Cory will find a way see beneath the muscles.

Cory is attacked, and Tao is ready to defend the man he cares for, gaining an opportunity for Cory to see him as a gentle giant. Will they get their chance at love or will vengeance end the affair before it’s truly begun?

Hell On Wheels is book three of The City series. Tao and Cory’s story gives us a glimpse at their pasts to gain perspective of what makes them tick. Tao is a fascinating character. His morals and caring personality make him a great match for Cory. Cory is fun and exciting, and refuses to settle when it comes to his heart. I’m ready to find a man with a motorcycle, a very loud one with an engine that revs up and sends thunder through my body. I love how Ms. Lynne always adds a scene that just makes me shiver.

Hell On Wheels combines action, suspense and sensual scenes to create a read that goes by faster than any reader is prepared for. The ending leads me to believe we will get at the very least one more story to come in this series. I found the book interesting, with just the right amount of erotic play to make me squirm in my seat.

Tisha Nichols isn’t a morning person and everyone knows that. When she is awakened by a little girl with a brush, Tisha thinks she’s dreaming. The dream quickly turns into a nightmare when the child’s uncle shows up and practically calls Tisha a kidnapper. Good looking or not, Tisha has no problem telling the man where he can go with his attitude. And that destination is a lot farther and hotter than his house across the street.

Jonah Glasse was a total jerk to Tisha, even though she was only doing a favor for his niece, Cami. He quickly changes his mind about Tisha after spending some quality time with her. The hot hairdresser intrigues him and is exactly the kind of woman he wants in his life.

Things heat up between the couple as drama unfolds with Cami’s cousin, ReShaunda. Just as Tisha, Jonah, and Cami start settling into a comfortable and happy routine, their faith is tested. Will they give up on forming the perfect family they could be or will they realize they have Something Worth Fighting For?

ReShaunda is the type of character that will draw a strong reaction from readers. Her views on race and children enraged me so much, I had to actually stop reading and calm down at some scenes. Lena Matthews did an excellent job of surprising me with what the woman would say or do next. Sometimes I forgot Cami’s age because of her communication skills. She was such a cutie pie. One of my favorite scenes was when Jonah went to apologize to Tisha. Tisha was so evil to the poor man that I actually felt sorry for him. His reaction to the situation was so calm and collected that I have to give Jonah points. That was the moment that I started cheering for him to win over Tisha as soon as possible. This story evokes so many emotions, from beginning to end, that readers can’t help but enjoy it as much as I did.

The Colony is being split in two as the majority of the community has decided to make a living as mercenaries. Angela is at odds with her sister about this and thinks this is the wrong way for jaguars to live.

Raul has loved Angela forever, but wanted to give her time to sow her wild oats before he claims her as his mate. He and his two brothers decide it is now time to leave and go to Central America. He is not leaving without Angela as his mate and makes plans to take her with them.

Black Seduction is the first book in the Black Jaguar series and gives you a glimpse into this very wild shifter society. Ms. O’Clare has a knack for keeping you involved in her shifter stories and keeping you engrossed. The background information given sets the stage for the journey that Raul, Angela and his two brothers take as they leave Colony.

The heat generated between Raul and Angela will scorch you, so keep ice at the ready. Raul ends up sharing Angela with his two brothers after they reach Central America and the heat between the four is explosive. The jaguars are a lot wilder than the author’s leopards. I am looking forward to learning more about them and how the author will resolve some of the conflicts that were revealed in this book.

Scott Stevenson is a mild-mannered type of guy who appreciates the appeal of watching eye candy. His latest venture for lunch brings him in proximity to a Laguna gallery and the gallery manager, Michael Taylor.

Their mutual attraction will lead to countless lunches and an affair of the heart that will blossom into the loving relationship both men deserve.

J.P. Bowie’s latest release Lunches in Laguna takes us to sunny California. Scott is a wonderful character full of charm and uncertainty. His reaction to Michael felt real and had me hoping that Michael felt the same desire and affection.

Michael has some drama in his life but thank goodness, he’s not a drama queen. There was one moment where Scott just took control and I knew there was no turning back for the lovers.

Lunches in Laguna’s interesting setting, developed storyline, plot and characters made the story a fast read with no hidden bumps along the road. As always, J.P. Bowie has delivered a story you won’t want to put down. Buy a copy and enjoy.

Conor O’Malley was doing his best to dance his cares away when he stepped off the edge of the dance floor and sprained his ankle. As it turned out, this was the best thing that could have happened to Conor. A homeless ex-con and working dead-end part-time jobs, Conor was thrilled when the doctor referred him to Murray De Souza, who was looking for help with his import business. Not only did Murray offer Conor a job, but room and board. After months of living together in the same household, Murray finally expressed a sexual interest in Conor, much to Conor’s delight since Conor had already grown to love Murray.

The Temple of Skanda is a fascinating story with a wealth of cultural history surrounding the myths of religious deities in India. The plot is moving. The characters are believable. There are emotional episodes that add a sense of balance to the storyline. The numerous intimate encounters illustrate Conor and Murray’s outlook relating to shared sexual pleasures. Murray had been in a long term relationship and he was still suffering from his recent break-up when he hired Conor to work in the warehouse. Murray imports religious statues from India.

Obscured in misery, Murray is still a hardworking, considerate man. Conor is friendly, laid back as well as working hard to turn his life around. Conor is attempting to avoid making mistakes that will send him back to prison. Before meeting Murray, Conor viewed casual sex as a part of life. Conor did not expect to fall in love, or wish for a committed relationship. Taking a business trip to India was a spiritual revelation for both Murray and Conor, establishing their budding relationship into a long lasting bond of trust.

Roland Graeme has created an impressive saga with captivating religious overtones. I thoroughly enjoyed The Temple of Skanda.

Robert has put his personal life on hold. As a top contender in the sport of mixed martial arts, Robert does not know what would happen if he were to come out.

Justin is out of the closet and has been for some time. Working as an EMT, as well as a part time auto mechanic, Justin is just hoping to make it from one month to the next.

I absolutely loved Taking the Chance by Trina Lane. From the beginning, both the story line and the characters pulled me in and left me reading until the wee hours of the morning. Both Robert and Justin are wishing for someone to call their own and the author makes sure they get just what they are looking for. From the moment they meet, you can see the connection forming between them and it is not long before they are declaring their love. The passion between them ranges from sweet to hot. While their relationship does have some minor issues, they are not anything the men can’t overcome.

There are also some wonderful secondary characters in Taking the Chance. Robert’s mom, Deb, is a single mother who taught her son to go out for what he wants and always treat people with respect. Joe is Robert’s unofficial stepfather and Robert couldn’t be happier about that. Mike is Justin’s mentor, and working partner, who was there in Justin’s time of need. Kelly is Justin’s sister who comes back into his life and changes both men’s lives. All these characters play an important part in the men’s lives and help enrich the story. Keep the tissues handy, as there will be times when you will need it.

As an avid reader, I have read a lot of good books but not many made me want to reread them right away the way Taking the Chance did.

John Anderson has no room to make errors in his life. Being an outlaw, John knows if he trusts the wrong person, he could find himself on the end of a hanging rope or incarcerated. However, encountering Will Connors makes John work towards a better life.

Will has his own troubles, and heartache to match. John reenters his life when Will needs him the most and their friendship grows into a relationship unlike any Will has ever experienced. Soon the men discover there is a happily-ever-after waiting at the End of the Trail.

Jane Elliot’s new western romance was a fantastic read. Will and John are both wonderful characters. Will knew John’s background but still found a way not to judge the man by his past, but by how he treated Will and those he loved. John’s past made him into the man he was, but it couldn’t destroy his heart. And the man truly had a beautiful heart. Even with all that Will was going through, he tried to keep him in good spirits and never made him feel less of a man. I was shocked by the condition he found him in when he returned, but was even more surprised at John’s ability to step in and become the friend and lover Will deserved.

The author did a wonderful job capturing the period, creating a beautiful and sometimes harsh setting, and creating characters that drew me into the story. I found End of the Trail to be a wonderfully written story and hope to read more from Ms. Elliot in the near future.

Maxie Briscoe: Werewolf

Maxie Briscoe walks a fine line between man and beast, never truly being free. Very few people know what she is and that’s how Maxie intends things to stay. She cannot bear the thought of someone close to her finding out the truth; to see the look of horror in a loved one’s eyes and know they think her a monster is too much for her to take. She thought she could keep her distance, keep control of her life while those around her carried on, blissfully unaware of her sacrifice. Her delicate balancing act comes crashing down the night her friend and neighbor Mary is murdered.

Maxie’s heightened lupine senses are working overtime as she tries to come to terms with her loss and deal with Mary’s grieving family all the while trying to figure out how something like this could happen right under her nose. When Damien and Noah enter her life, just when things turn crazy, she struggles to keep a grip. She’s never met another werewolf, let alone two incredibly hot male werewolves, who seriously bring out the alpha female in her. She’s kidding herself if she thinks she can keep them at bay for long. The thought of truly letting her beast out to play without fear is just too tempting and before long, all three of them have the scars to prove it. Maxie never knew it could be so explosive to really let go, but she better not push the voice of reason away for too long as these guys know more than they are letting on. Maxie may find it difficult letting others into her life but she needs to learn to trust her new lovers fast – her life may depend on it.

Maxie Briscoe: Werewolf is a thrilling story of murder and suspense, with werewolf mythology and shape-shifter sex aplenty. Maxie is a very strong character and I connected with her immediately. She is stubborn and harsh at times; qualities that can turn me off if overdone but with Maxie it is completely understandable. The author laid her bare from the start; showing Maxie’s vulnerabilities and just why she acts the way she does. She isn’t selfish and doesn’t abuse her power, no matter how much her beast begs her to. Her mundane human life plays off well against her werewolf life and the sacrifices she has to make to be able to even have a human life in the first place is an endearing character trait.

The strongest element of this book is the plot. The author does a fantastic job building Maxie’s world and I felt able to walk among it with ease. The mystery surrounding Mary’s murder and the subsequent race to catch the killer is compelling. The introduction of Damien and Noah was more than welcome, as I really felt Maxie’s frustration at having to hold back with human lovers. Although a little heavy on the erotic element at times, the author mostly manages to keep a nice balance between plot and sex. Putting these three werewolves together made for some very hot and steamy scenes, which were a pleasure to read.

The last night before embarking on their new careers, Lane and Matt make love for the first time. Best friends since childhood, Lane and Matt have secretly loved each other for years. However, when Lane awakens the next morning, Matt is gone. Separated for five years, it takes a hurricane to bring them together again.

Pinky Swear is a charming young love story. The plot is well written with interesting characters on a journey of discovery. Matt grew up with an abusive father until the age of sixteen when his father discovered Matt was gay and kicked him out. Matt is smart and hard working. He had a special bond with Lane that went beyond friendship. Because of his father, Matt’s self-esteem and self-image had been destroyed; Matt did not consider himself worthy of Lane, so he behaved in a way designed to drive Lane away. Being shy with a stutter, Lane has silently waited years for Matt to notice him as more than a friend. In the four college years Lane and Matt shared an apartment together, Lane had a few boyfriends but none of them seemed to measure up to Matt in Lane’s mind. The New Orleans setting is realistic.

However, I did find it hard to imagine two young men claiming to love each other, as well as years of living together, and not having any intimate contact or even banter about their feelings. Lynn Lorenz has created an enjoyable mildly emotional saga.

Chris Gibson and John Soong are partners for a secret organization. Their latest assignment goes south when their target is seriously wounded. John and Chris have different ideas on handling the situation but in the end, they both agree to use some deception to keep Andrei Voronin from knowing the truth.

Andrei’s work for the Russian mob has finally come to bite him in the butt. He doesn’t remember that life or the two men who claim to be his lovers. However, one thing is clear; Andrei knows life wouldn’t be the same without John and Chris.

One Russian mob associate and two secret agents bring action, suspense, and sexual heat to us in Clean Slate. Chris and John are complete opposites; it was like watching a sexy and dangerous odd couple in action. Andrei is the balance the men need to recognize the connection they share and bridge a way to make it work. I have to admit I love John’s personality. He had to be a strong man to work with Chris. Chris’ actions were a shield to hide his true feelings. Thank goodness, Andrei knew what was important and laid just the right seeds to help create the perfect threesome.

Aleksandr Voinov and Barbara Sheridan have written a great mystery. They supply just enough detail to place us into the scenes without distracting us from the story. Those who enjoy contemporary suspense will enjoy Clean Slate.

Ever since Kaine met John Simmons, she has been dreaming and thinking about him. Kaine can’t shift now, as she is blocking her wolf, believing John left requesting his and his sister’s memories be erased of the Lucanis, because he was appalled that she could shift.

John is trying to keep his sister safe, but is also dreaming about Kaine. When he meets her in a bar, he doesn’t realize they have already met. Life is about to get crazy for them all.

This third installment of the Lucani Lovers series is just as intense as the rest of them. Edge of Moonlight continues the mystery from Moonlight Ménage. This book has the explosive relationship between Kaine and John, as well as the mystery suspense of the others. As you read you find out more about the Etruscan society and how they survive among the eteri or humans. There was so much misunderstanding between Kaine, John, and the secondary characters, you wondered how the author was going to resolve some of them. Emotions run high and very intense among all the characters as this story evolves and will keep you on the edge of your seat. I can’t wait for the next one.
