Party Planner Adam Beller is doing some last minute shopping for a party display when he is observed by building contractor Javier Marisco. After their first meeting, it does not take long for Adam and Javier’s sexual escapades to bloom into love.

Mi Amor is a fantastic romance interwoven with humor and a little cultural drama, along with criminal activities. The setting is South Beach, Florida where a large part of the community is gay. The characters are believable. Adam is an openly gay man from the East Coast, who chose not to follow in his father’s business footsteps. He has a free spirit personality, plus he is not looking for a relationship until he meets Javier. Adam is generally intelligent; however, he seems to be naïve when it comes to making good business judgments. It is this poor business standard that generates the attention of the FBI.

Javier is Cuban and because of cultural traditions, in addition to his fear of losing his business clients, Javier is an in-the-closet gay. He is an exceptionally passionate man. Secretly dating Adam, Javier soon realizes that their passions are well matched. Both men try to resist the budding love between them without success. The secondary characters insert a touch of additional spice to the story. Neil Plakcy has created a marvelous saga that I enjoyed immensely.
