Tessa Crawford is very efficient and very professional.  Even though she loves her job, Tessa’s work life is torture.  She has a major crush on her boss that’s getting stronger each day.  Her fantasies will never become reality if Tessa can’t even muster up the courage to call him by his first name.  A smart, handsome and driven man like Alex can have any woman he wants.  Unfortunately, the only thing he wants Tessa for is scheduling and answering phones.

Alex Worth is obsessed with his conservative, yet feisty assistant Tessa.   Something about her calls to him, yet Alex fights to keep things strictly business between them.  When he’s forced to go on an unexpected business trip, Alex doesn’t hesitate to bring Tessa along.

When the sexual tension becomes impossible to ignore, Alex and Tessa cross the line of boss and employee.  As their new relationship intensifies, so do work problems back at home.  There’s a traitor in the company and all the signs point toward Tessa.  After being fired, Tessa cuts ties and disappears to rebuild her life.  When she and Alex accidentally bump into each other, feelings resurface and the truth comes out.   After a lot of pain and unexpected surprises, the couple gets their happy ending and new beginning.

Alex was caught between a rock and a hard place when he was forced to let Tessa go.  His heart and his head were in conflict.  I was saddened by his decision but honestly, I knew it was the only one he could make.  As bad as I felt for Tessa, I think I actually felt worse for Alex.  A man such as himself wasn’t accustomed to losing control or being wrong.  Certainly, he deserved to suffer for not giving Tessa a chance to explain her side.  Part of me wanted him to find her a lot sooner than he did.  Tessa had stolen his heart, even though Alex wasn’t ready to admit it to himself.  It took guts for Tessa to start over the way she did, without so much as a backwards glance.  At times Tessa was so naive, I worried about her. In the end, I was so proud of her and I know readers will agree.  This love story was definitely Worth The Scandal.
