April runs after her fiancé abuses and threatens her.  What she doesn’t realize is that she also takes evidence that could bring him down.  Daniel resigns from his position as a guard with Angelo when he realizes he was hired under false pretenses.  He no longer has a reason to stay once April runs.

Hunting April is the second book in The Men of Sanctuary series.  We learn that Angelo is part of a mob family, but doesn’t want even his uncle to know what April inadvertently took with her when she escaped.  Several characters of the first book make a strong appearance, and we are introduced to a few more.  The suspense is very intense and the reader is kept interested throughout the book.

The author did a lot of research regarding para-military type training facilities and has a good grasp of some things that go into security backgrounds including paranoid personalities.  I really enjoyed the very realistic descriptions that she had within the story because they play an important role in what happens later.

There were several times that I wanted to slap Daniel because of his attitude.  Actually, Glennon could have used a little attitude adjustment as well.  I heartily agreed with their attitude after they discovered what April had been subjected to, while she lived with Angelo.  April ended up standing up for herself in a most unexpected way.  The author did a great job surprising me.
While this story can stand alone, I would suggest reading A Strength of Arms before reading Hunting April as it will help understand about the relationships each person has.  I am looking forward to the next book.
