Despite being a fairy, Reika’s magic does strange things to her dates, including Jax.  What is different is that she happens to be his mate.  Jax is not only a fireman, he is a werewolf and wolves mate for life.

The second book in the Romance in Moonspell series, Fire Within, has some intrigue and a stalker.  Fire Within also happens to be a lighthearted romance even with those suspenseful elements.

I loved Jax and there was a small difference with the author’s werewolf knowing someone was their mate.  Despite Reika’s mishaps, Jax doesn’t seem to care, which endeared him to me immediately.  Some of the situations they found themselves in were funny and I really liked their reaction when they tried to end the mishaps she had.

Some of the secondary characters were so true to life and the reaction that Jax and Reika had respectively was true as well. The interactions with the firemen were funny, especially when Jax basically told one of them to back off.  I loved the firemen’s reaction when Reika’s best friend showed up with her one time.

This series does not need to be read in order.  In fact, this book was quite different from the first one and I look forward to seeing how this series progresses.
