Charlie Rhodes fell for Scott Boone when Scotty’s family moved into the apartment next door. They’re together all through high school but when Scotty moves closer to his father’s family, their relationship slows and eventually ends. It’s a painful time for the heartbroken Charlie. Life goes on and Charlie finds love again with Adan Navarro. But he’s unable to commit and their relationship ends too, leaving Charlie feeling hurt.

Years later, a family crisis moves Charlie across the country where he meets Scotty again, except he’s now in a committed relationship with Adan. He’s crushed to learn they’re in love. What he doesn’t realize is that both men regret letting Charlie go and want him back in their lives. Can they convince Charlie to give them another chance? Can he trust them after so much time and hurt?

The newest release in the Family series, More Than Everything can be read as a standalone. It’s a well written and entertaining addition to the series that I enjoyed. The storyline is nicely plotted, the personalities are unique and well developed, the imagery is vivid and the flow smooth. I like Charlie. He’s a sweet guy and doesn’t make any apologies for who he is. Even when life hurts, he goes on—he deals with it—tries to be happy. The family crisis took me surprise and takes the story in a direction I didn’t expect. It also got all three men back together. It was a painful twist for Charlie but added another layer of upset to his life. His biggest hurt also gives him his greatest happiness, and the future he always wanted. It’s a difficult moment in his life and oh, so realistic. The author handles it very well.

She also handles the threesome aspect nicely. More importantly this portion of the story is about blending all of their lives into a whole—a family. It’s non-traditional but watching them work through their issues made me smile. But then I found myself smiling often during this entertaining love story. I couldn’t help it. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
