Ethan Ryerson was excited to be an immortal werewolf, but that was centuries ago. Nowadays, immortality has lost its charm; that is until Ethan, quite by chance, meets Tucker Scott, a human and Ethan’s mate.

Harvest Howl is the first book in The Lykos Cycle series. The setting is West Hollywood. The plot is an erotic romance featuring Ethan’s and Tucker’s background, as well as the nature of the wolf. However, this pack’s description resembles Native American skin walkers rather than wolves in the wild. The full moon is the driving force for the pack’s yearnings to hunt and Halloween is the perfect setting for the werewolves to be themselves without costumes. The characters are creditable.

The only times Ethan loses control of his inner wolf is during the week of a full moon, then in turns into a vicious killer which he regrets the next day. The killing cycle causes Ethan to slip into a depression. After meeting Tucker, Ethan tries to redeem his self control by scaring his victims instead of killing them.

Tucker felt like an outsider with his former boyfriend and he has only one true friend. After meeting Ethan, Tucker gained self esteem, love, as well as new friends.

LaBelle has created an impressive and enjoyable saga. There are few non-romantic exploits in the storyline; the main events showcased are the various detailed intimacies.
