It’s the year 1577 in Western Japan and Liu Sakurai returns home after working in the rice fields; he calls out to his friend Kiyoshi, who is still sleeping. Surrounded by violence and famine Liu, the stronger of the two, loves Kiyoshi more than a brother and will do anything to protect him, until one night when an injured stranger comes to their door. Kuro is more than a Warrior; he awakens the secret desires of the young men and changes their lives forever.
Blood Brothers is the first book of the Blood Brothers series. Liu Sakurai and Kiyoshi have been best friends since childhood. With the death of their parents, Liu moved into Kiyoshi’s house to help work the fields. Their friendship matured into love, but there are some forces that even love cannot endure. The amazing team of Barbara Sheridan and Anne Cain gives the reader a view of feudal Japan and the hardships the people endured. This is an impressive story that I enjoyed.
