I love this series and Devils on Horseback - Zeke has cemented that fondness! Zeke has deserved a loving relationship for a while now, and he finds that with Naomi. Naomi is no push over. She is fierce and determined with a warm heart. Watching those two mix words was like watching gas added to a three-alarm fire. All the Devils have demons to defeat, and it’s nice to see their women strong enough to assist and love them through the bad times. I had hopes of Lee finding what he needs in this installment, but he is still having his pity party. I know Beth Williamson has a strong, loyal and beautiful woman waiting in the wings to straighten him out and show him just what a man with one arm can do. If you’re a fan of the series, you truly won’t be disappointed.

Willa Okati’s A-Muse-Ing is a hilarious must-read. The reader will have a hard time not laughing as Harper tries to handle his sugar-addicted muse. The passion Rory and Harper feel for each other, as well as the problems they encounter with Harper’s ex and Rory’s boss are handled perfectly. The secondary characters, which include a turtle, add to the enjoyment of the story. If you’re looking for a good romantic comedy then make sure you pick up Willa Okati's A-Muse-Ing.

Lee is the eldest of the Drace brothers and the words dominant, handsome, and wealthy sum him up perfectly. Lee’s good looks are a powerful lure, and he normally has to beat women off with a stick. However, normally took a back seat the day he met Cherise Roberts. There is no question about Cherise’s attraction to Lee. The true question is whether Lee is formidable enough to break down her walls and gain the love he is desperately seeking.

Marie Rochelle provides another wonderful installment in the Drace brothers’ love lives. Lee is a man after my heart. Forget his wealth and looks for a second. Lee loves his family and his view on interracial relationships has changed since his introduction in Zack’s story. He recognizes that love can come when you least expect it and you cannot always choose the exact package that it’s introduced in. I know Lee’s attraction to Cherise, and then later his love, came as a slight shock to him but his body and heart didn’t care about her color; just that they had to have her. Cherise made me want to lock her in timeout! I’ve never seen a woman fight love so hard. I understand once bitten twice shy, but sometimes you just have to throw caution to the wind and go for it. I really thought it was too late for them a few times throughout the story, but the couple proved they were made of stronger stuff than most. Closer to You: Lee is a wonderful story, a bit shorter than the previous two, but still packed with laughter, love, and toe curling loving. A wonderful addition to the series, and a fantastic read for those who have enjoyed reading about the Drace brothers thus far.

Zach is treated as a guest in the vampire leader’s home and Zach soon develops a desire to be with him. Night is a vampire with strong principles; he resists taking a mortal as a lover, but the connection between the two men proves to be too strong even for a vampire to break. Shayne Carmichael produces a heartwarming and creative romance that I enjoyed immensely.

Going next door, he finds out that his parents have gone away for the weekend. With Rick unable to stay at his parents place due to cat allergies, Robby invites him to stay with him. It’s not long before Robby realizes that he is falling in love with the handsome marine. Knowing Rick can’t be gay, Robby tries to keep his feelings to himself. Rick has fallen for Robby just as fast and is just waiting for Robby to feel comfortable enough to admit how he feels. Nothing can keep these two apart however and soon they have to start wondering what to do about the future.

Fans of Bobby Michaels will love Weekend Leave. The love these two feel for each other is intense and while the sex may seem on the raw side to some, Rick shows great tenderness towards Robby on more than one occasion. Although I thought the story ended way too soon, I enjoyed the story and will add it to my growing list of books written by Bobby Michaels. I hope that we will see the men from Weekend Leave again soon.

I truly felt sorry for her situation. To know that you aren’t getting the love you deserve from a stranger is one thing, but her mother is a piece of work. The more information she gives about her sister, the clearer her situation becomes. Hugh is the man of my dreams. I can truly say that I plan to look for a man with some of his characteristics. He saw Mary Elizabeth’s pain, and even before they mated, he had the urge to heal her wounds. I tell you the man was just romantic. He proved to her that he would be a sole and soul provider. Looking at her past, he unlocked what has caused her grief and made her release the hurt. He was a source of love, friendship, and devotion for Mary Elizabeth and was at her disposal. There are truly no words for the love he showered on her, and I’m so happy he was able to give her the strength to fight back and move forward. The True Mates series is truly becoming one of my favorites, and Zena Wynn has taken up ranks as one of my must-buy authors. Her stories are entertaining yet they bring hard issues to the forefront. The question of abuse, not physical but definitely mental comes to mind after reading this incredible story. Your family should infuse you with love in your tender years, not tear you down. Regardless of the treatment, Mary Elizabeth still grew into a wonderful woman who knew her strengths and learned to accept the love so freely given. I’m anxiously awaiting the next installment in this fantastic series.

She had made some decisions that will lead to more arguments and deaths for the family.

Simon Sutcliffe is still grieving for his son that was lost in a fire a year ago but with a summons from his father, he is back at a board meeting that will change his life forever. With his soon to be ex-wife sitting at the table, he is not willing to look at her because of his hatred for her for letting their son die at an early age for her own enjoyment. Now that he has seen Tamara and requested she bring some items in without knowing who she was but hiding his sexual attraction from her as she did the same thing.

First to Die captivated me so much, I was thinking about it all the times I was not able to read and was very surprised by everyone’s actions throughout the book. The characters were so intense with their determination to have things their way always. I was lead one way first with deceit and secrets, when the murders started. It was anyone’s guess who was doing the killing and I loved every moment of reading this book.

This was wonderful story that Cris Anson wrote with all the extra drama you could ever want with a lot of family money. I found myself cheering Tamara for her courage to go on with life after the first accident among the many others in the book. As the love grows between these two lovers, an understanding forms of what each has brought to the relationship and they love harder than they thought possible. Towards the end of this story there was still danger to the couple and I won’t give away the ending that I was very happy to read.

Frost Fair is an event that took place in London when the Thames freezes enough to support the stalls of vendors. Gideon is a proud man, who struggles to continue the small print shop inherited from his father, but poverty forces Gideon into prostitution at times when the debt collectors become too demanding. When Gideon’s printing press is destroyed by a malicious gentleman during the frost fair, he turns to his secret love Joshua for help. Joshua offers Gideon a position in his household, viewing this as an opportunity to have the man he loves close, but Joshua did not take into account how lies, jealousy and pride could tear them apart. Erastes’ creative rendition of life in the regency period highlights the cruel punishments of being gay. Male with male relationships, if discovered, could result in incarceration and often hanging. Even though today’s laws have changed, the social views remain the same. This is an interesting and emotionally moving story that I found enjoyable.

Caught between Botelli who does not trust him, Sanchez who does not like his pretty face and his secret desires for the opposing team’s handsome lieutenant, Gabriel can see things are not looking too bright for a healthy future. The extraordinary talent of Laura Baumbach and Josh Lanyon has produced an exciting action-packed thriller that will keep you hanging on the edge of your chair. The plot is well paced and intense; the action is heart stopping and the love scenes are tantalizing. This is a brilliant story that is almost impossible to stop reading until the end. I recommend Mexican Heat to anyone who enjoys this genre.

There are many, many secrets hiding within both of them, one of which I did not expect, and the revelation was both surprising and incredibly arousing.

Vampires of Noctra: Blood Bounty is the first in what I hope will be a very long series. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book.

Each book can, without a doubt, be read as a stand-alone, but better understanding of the characters and their ongoing relationships might be better served if they are read in order.

This one deals with the lives of two rival warriors in love with the same woman. In this case, the young and beautiful virginal queen, Yarionna. Ms. Hayes once again does a great job describing the emotions swirling between Camp, Match and Yari, giving a good understanding of what motivates their actions. This is especially true of Camp and Match who start out as bitter competitors for Yari’s hand, and end up as friends…sort of. It was a joy to watch these two men work through their differences and come together to keep the woman they both love safe. Ms. Hayes did an equally nice job in showing the confusion Yari was facing…a champion good for her people or good for her, and wanting to know why she couldn’t have both. I was thrilled with the author’s skillfully crafted, action packed ending with near death, betrayal and a personal resolution that allowed the queen to have the men she loved. Match, Camp and Yari might not have been expecting to find love and happiness as a threesome but that, along with fiery passion and blistering hot sex, is exactly what they get.

What fascinates Martin is that they not only understand him, but they enjoy his company as much as he enjoys theirs.

One afternoon, Martin finds himself caught in bad weather while visiting his new friends. The twosome takes him to safety, but Martin believes he was hallucinating. Surely, two men didn’t approach him during that stormy afternoon. Months later, Martin goes back to find out if they were actually a dream, or if he discovered two Doms who could complete his life.

When I asked to review this book, I really didn’t know what to expect. I love shapeshifter stories and was hoping that Dolphin Dreams would be a break from the norm. I truly got my wish. Martin is a submissive only when it’s time for lovemaking. Away from the bedroom, he’s smart, handsome, with more than enough love for everyone important in his life. He is truly a force to be reckoned with, in his own right. George and Patrick are both dominants, but it’s clear that George is the more dominant of the two. George is more of the thinker and Martin seems to nourish that side of his needs adequately. Patrick is playful and the more adventurous of the two. When you put the three men together, it’s a flawlessly balanced arrangement. Each feeds off the other two and gives as much as he gets. I enjoyed watching them grow together, and seeing Martin realize that his past hurts healed with little residual side affect. If anything, I think his previous relationship helped him to appreciate the love, friendship and devotion he discovered with his new lovers. From the setting to the characters, Jules Jones has written a wonderful story filled with surprises that are sure to entertain. In addition, for those readers who think cousins should do no more than kiss each other on the cheek, I feel I should warn you that George and Patrick are first cousins. However, if you can get past that and look at the warm loving relationship they have with Martin, I’m sure you will enjoy the story.

Over There is the November release in the Calendar Boys series and this one honors the gay men who have served their country faithfully, no matter the branch of service. Ironically, I was finishing this timely story on Veteran’s Day, the day chosen in 1954 to honor all veterans, not just those who’d served in WWI under the older Armistice Day holiday.

This nostalgic tale isn’t a hot and steamy romance as might be expected. Instead it’s a warm and tender tale of two lovers torn apart by war finding a way back to each other after years of being alone and unhappy. The physical intimacy between Harvey and Zach is sweet and slow as they re-build their relationship after so many years apart. It also deals nicely with Zach’s easy acceptance of Harvey’s war injury and the brace he’s forced to wear, showing he loves Harvey the person, not Harvey the scarred former soldier. These two guys are so likable it almost makes your heart hurt as they struggle with societies’ idea of what’s normal and accepted so they can have a life together. Harvey was my favorite of the two. He’d been living in a small rural community since his medical discharge from the Army and he’d been alone and unloved all that time. He’s the one who could hardly believe it possible to be with Zach…it was like life in California was a dream, and to watch him reach out and grasp his future…well, it was wonderful to see.

Traitor’s Kiss was very deceptive and a wonderful love story that survived quite a few trials for both of them. This is a typical couple in love but not really expressing to the other what they feel. An adventure to foreign lands was not what I expected but thoroughly enjoyed reading about the places they went. There was an element of deceit from some of the characters that had me rooting for the hero and heroine, all the way to the end of the story.

All through the book there was never a dull moment and praises goes to Janet Toombs for creating a fabulous journey for the characters. This is a must read book that took me to points beyond some of my wildest imaginations and now I long to visit those places spoken of.

I pray I haven’t heard the last of them, and am even keeping my fingers crossed in hopes of reading about some of Iain’s friends. Selena Illyria, you are killing me with these short, hot stories, but what a way to go!

Brance never goes into a situation without giving it some thought. He’s a patient man, and wants to protect his mate and home. Caleb has slowly rubbed off on the man, and he has made tiny changes. One of which is the ability to communicate his emotions. I could feel Caleb’s joy when he finally admitted the depth of his feelings. I’ve enjoyed this entire series and plan to read this series again. A More Perfect Union has a perfect balance and delivers interesting characters, a picture perfect setting, and a plot that is not overly complicated, but wonderfully written. J.M. Snyder has once again brings a wonderful tale of Caleb and Brance for our reading pleasure.

It also puts her in the sights of tall and sexy, Taber, an alien man she can’t get out of her mind. Attraction leads to a night of passion and then a confession, making Fallon love Taber more. It also focuses the killer’s attention on Taber.

The Bond That Consumes Us is the latest release by Christine d’Abo in her ongoing Eternal Bonds series, and it’s another winner. Whether you enjoy futuristic stories or not, this well-written and fast-paced romance will grab your attention from the beginning pages and kept it until you read the last word. This series might be set in the future with its space travel and intergalactic colonies, but the backbone of this story is finding unexpected love and catching a killer. This type of story, especially one so well thought out and with such interesting characters, works, no matter what the genre.

The sexual tension between Taber and Fallon starts at a slow simmer and quickly changes to a rolling boil as these two virtual strangers struggle against an attraction they don’t expect, and Taber doesn’t understand or welcome. It’s an attraction that neither can deny nor ignore, since it only gets stronger hour by hour. Add in a killer who appears to be focused on Fallon, and Taber has all the reason he needs to stick close to her side.

While I enjoyed the first portion of the story which takes place aboard the Damara, it’s the last part where Taber takes Fallon back to the Eurus colony for safety that is my favorite. It’s here that Ms. d’Abo shines with her seamless integration of the great primary characters from her previous two releases. These scenes are wonderfully done, giving a new view of Fallon, Taber and how they relate to others. It’s safe to say that I’ll be reading the next release in this winning series.

The plot is an exciting suspense that evolves into a breathless finale. I particularly enjoyed the characters at play in their wolf form. The loves scenes are sensual and the interaction between mates is heartwarming. This is an outstanding werewolf story that I enjoyed immensely.

However, it is when Ian and Alan enter the equation that Michael Powers’ writing shines. It is not what goes on in the bedroom that is important but rather the strong inter-personal relationships and family structure that form the foundation on which I recommend Selfless to any fan of the genre. Ample detail of the publishing and movie industry create a rich and vibrant world for the characters to inhabit. Medical issues are treated with decorum and respect. I couldn’t help but feel somewhat rushed with the speed at which things progressed at times but in keeping with the long running theme of commitment, it is not until the very end that the importance of each character’s presence can be truly understood.

Marti Darnell is just fine with her empty nest. She feels she’s never really bonded with her two daughters; one a psychologist, married to a surgeon, the other a beauty with a glamorous Hollywood marriage. Marti and husband Harold run a day lily farm. She’s an intelligent, independent, capable woman. Then Harold falls off the roof, landing on her and breaking her ankle. He breaks his wrist and he already had a bum leg. Older daughter Glenna returns home after leaving her adulterous husband and things are definitely off key with younger daughter Candie’s marriage. So Marti berates herself for being a lousy mother.

Author Carey does a great job portraying and relieving maternal guilt in this story. The characters are truly three dimensional and almost universally likable against the rural Tennessee backdrop.

The Darnells are helped on the farm by an industrious young man named Steve. He was once engaged to Glenna and she broke his heart. Hollywood producer Jake wants Glenna back and he’s actually a pretty nice guy. So is Candie’s spouse Matt -- Marti is finally warming up to him. There’s a visiting nurse, a gorgeous film star, and a catty, thoroughly dependable best friend. There are no real bad guys here, but the story of emotional growth and revelation is captivating.

The enduring marriage and romance between Marti and Harold is a great inspiration. Yes, there were rocky periods but they survived. And they hope their daughters will do the same.

Most of us realize that the job of mothering never ends. Marti’s relationships with her girls -- and her own sense of self -- make for a very pleasant read.

Ted is a teacher with an ex-wife and two kids. But at night he’s Raven; free from obligation and parenthood, he goes out to party as a gay man. Caesar has been trying to get Ted’s number for awhile but the man keeps brushing him off. Will Caesar finally get his chance to be with Ted? Nevermore is a sweet story, I loved how the author described Ted and his alter ego, Raven. The image she portrayed was very hot. The premise of the story was there, but I felt it needed a bigger scale to actually work on. Overall it was a decent story, but I felt there was too much missing for me to fully enjoy the tale.

Chasing Sand by Ava Matthews * 3 Nymphs
Adam is on holiday with his brother’s family. The kids are driving him mad, so he heads out where he meets a very hot Matt. Chasing Sand really delivered the theme of the anthology without using tired over-used clichés. Adam is a cute character but if the author didn’t mention that he was twenty-seven, I would have had him pegged as a nineteen year old. Not to be mistaken, Adam just seemed like a younger character. Matt was also adorable, more shy and reserved; he was a total opposite to Adam. The story was very nicely written and I enjoyed it immensely.

Surf’s Up by Zoe Nichols * 3 Nymphs
Shane loves the beach, and loves to surf. But when an accident stops him from surfing, he still comes to the beach to remember his fondest days. But when he meets Lucas, he might find another reason to love the beach. Surf’s Up started off really well, I really got into Shane’s head and found myself wanting to know more about him. When Lucas came into the picture, it was beyond hot. However despite the sex being smoking, I was a little uncomfortable when Lucas kept calling Shane ‘daddy’. Despite that, I really enjoyed myself.

Overall Taste Tests: A Day at the Beach is an entertaining anthology. I found the last two stories held the theme of the anthology much better than the first one. This anthology is the perfect read for a hot summer’s day. But it also did the job for a cold winter night.

Despite the chaos they endured through the centuries, the bond of love remained strong. Lost Souls is fascinating and has an emotional plot with incredible characters that were no longer part of the mortal world but preserved their mortal hearts. I enjoyed the Blood Brothers series immensely.

The incredible team of Barbara Sheridan and Anne Cain not only deliver a creative well written story but also included is an amazing collection of beautiful pictures that illustrates the storyline. I enjoyed Soul of the Night immensely.
