Dare to Love Forever

Author: Jake C. Wallace
Publisher: Dreamspinner Press
ISBN: 978-1-63477-716-2
Genre: {M/M} Vampire Series
Rating: 5 Nymphs
Literary Nymphs Reviewer: Chocolate Minx

Carson Locke, a rare Tabula Rosa vampire, is starving, yet the thought of biting someone nauseates him more than the thought of dying a slow painful death. Nevertheless, Sanatore vampire Lincoln Samuels has the gift of healing and decides Carson is worth saving.

Fortunately, Carson survives. Unfortunately Carson becomes something the vampire world has never seen before, plus Carson is now bonded to Lincoln.

Dare To Love Forever is the first book in the New Vampire Justice series. This story has a fast paced exciting plot. The theme’s focus is the extent of corruption a psychologically disturbed fanatic will go through to achieve power. The plot is a combination of humor, political affairs, mystery, gripping action, as well as sizzling intimacy. The interaction between the characters is entertaining.

Carson has been thrust into a world unknown to him after his mother was killed. He was taught as a child that his bite could destroy others, so he vowed never to feed directly from another. Before meeting LincolnCarson’s emotional state was in such a deep depression his body could not heal. Although Carson is a dangerous vampire when warranted, he has the personality of an incredibly kindhearted man.

Lincoln heads a team in the New Vampire Justice police force. He is protective as well as compassionate to everyone who deserves it. Lincoln sensed there was something special about Carson, so Lincoln took a chance that Carson would not resurrect another chaotic experience of rejection like the one in Lincoln’s past.

Jake C. Wallace has created an extraordinarily enjoyable saga. Carson and Lincoln are so attuned to each other it creates an especially romantic picture of forever lovers. I look forward to the next episode.

Deep Deliverance

Author: Z. A. Maxfield
Publisher: Samhain Publishing
ISBN: 9781619228504
Genre: {M/M} Vampire Series
Rating: 4.5 Nymphs
Literary Nymphs Reviewer: Chocolate Minx

Adin Tredeger is a newly turned vampire, no thanks to his overzealous vampire lover, Donte Fedelta. Now Adin must reconcile himself to living as one of the undead.

Deep Deliverance is the third book in the Deep series. The action is fascinating, blended with a touch of humor.  The characters are credible as well as engaging.

The series begins with Deep Desire; Professor of Literature, Dr. Adin Tredeger travels the world hunting for historical erotica. He is searching for a 500-year-old journal with erotic illustrations. Donte Fedelta is the author and the artist of the journal and he wants his property returned. Adin and Donte meet on an airplane flying back to America and the two men become lovers.

In Deep Deliverance Adin feels betrayed by Donte for the role he played in Adin’s mutation, Adin had no desire to be a vampire. The one thing Adin cherished more than his love for Donte was his humanity.

A newly turned vampire has many adjustments to make.  The biggest modification required was that Adin must feed from a human. In Adin’s mind, feeding on humans would make him a monster, especially if the human died during the feeding process. Adin blamed Donte for the lost of independence as well as his humanity.

Donte realizes he cannot restrict Adin’s freedom; Adin still thinks like a human instead of a vampire. Donte does his best to protect Adin from their enemies even when Adin declines to listen to Donte’s guidance.

Z. A. Maxfield has created a wonderful addition to this series. There were several times during the reading of Deep Deliverance I hoped someone would smack Adin because of his stubbornness, but Adin finally admitted that he was the cause of the predicaments he found himself embroiled in.

Don’t Drink the Holy Water

Author: Bailey Bradford

ISBN: 978-1-78430-865-0
Genre: {M/M} Vampire Series

West is a new vampire still in training when he first meets Axel, even though the circumstances were ominous at the time, the attraction was immediate and long lasting.

Don’t Drink the Holy Water is the fourth book in The Vamp for Me series. In this episode, West is a victim of a cruel vampire attack. Coven leader Claude’s only option was to turn West into a vampire. West is the sole provider of his four siblings, which is the main reason Claude chose to save West’s life.  When West had adjusted to being a vampire, with the help of Claude, West moved to Portland, a larger coven with more humans to help care for the children while the vampires slept.

Axel has some notoriety as a sand boarder and was in Portland for a competition when he and West met for a second time. Again the attraction between them was immediate, but both men had issues, delaying their chance to really get to know each other before their budding relationship was lost forever.

Don’t Drink the Holy Water is an enjoyable installment, I am curious to see where this series is headed since the location has changed as well as a different coven leader is featured.

Feast Anew

Two weeks after breaking up with his vampire lover, Toby Heaton realizes he made the wrong decision. Toby chose to save his brother’s life, but in doing so, Toby did not know that breaking the bond with his lover Demetrios would cost both of them their lives until it was almost too late.

Feast Anew is the third book in the Feasts of Fortune series.  In this episode anger, jealousy, regret and loneliness are the main elements illustrated in the plot. The storyline has a wonderfully descriptive consistency of action, compassion as well as a touch of amusement. The characters are especially engaging.

Toby and Demetrios stumble upon several major eye-openers. Toby discovers what being a chrysalis child really means to a vampire, in addition to the root of the conspiracy to break up Toby and De. Toby also discovers a few secrets about his twin brother Taylor. De discovers being too indulgent encourages immature expectations.

Kate Steele has created an exceptionally gratifying installment to the series. I enjoyed Feast Anew immensely.

Toby Heaton, a human, awakens to find himself imprisoned by a vampire who has a score to settle with Toby’s vampire lover, Demetrios.  This enemy has waited hundreds of years to extract his petty revenge on De. Toby is forced to be the tool to bring about Demetrios’ destruction and possibly destroy Toby as well.

A Feast of Choice is the second book in the Feasts of Fortune series. The well written plot illustrates incredibly sensual lovemaking, rejection, jealousy and heartbreak. In this episode, Toby has a reasonable incentive to follow the perpetrator’s demands. However, Toby is afraid to trust the enemy; also Toby is angry he has been ensnared into the role of a helpless victim. Although Toby claims to love De, he still deceives him. Now he must live with the consequences of his betrayal.

The series begins with Phantasmagoric Feast. Toby Heaton is passed over for a promotion at his advertising job. His boss said that Toby didn’t have the flair to sell his great ideas to the clients. Now Toby is on a mission to show his co-workers just how audacious he can be. After a few cocktails to settle his nerves, Toby walks across the street into the Mausoleum, a bar owned and operated by vampires. However, Toby’s undertaking to feed a big bad vampire changes when bartender Demetrios offers Toby an evening of pleasure, instead.

Kate Steele has created an excellent saga that I absolutely enjoyed.  A Feast of Choice is a romantic cliffhanger blended with mystery.  I look forward to the next installment.

Sunshine is Overrated

Abernathy Meyers is not happy being vampire Zebulon’s at home meal. Abbie would much rather feed the vampire coven leader Claude, whom he secretly loves. Sadly, Abbie is stuck with Zeb as a mate, or is he? Can a vampire mate bond be broken and still have a second chance to find a true love?

Sunshine is Overrated is the third book in The Vamp for Me series. The plot’s main elements are lies, fears, jealousy and a few surprises. Abbie, Zeb and Claude have a history together that finally boils over into the present. The characters are creditable.

Zeb is an immoral vampire who has always been jealous of Claude. All of Zeb’s actions are motivated by getting revenge against Claude. Zeb has no qualms about lying or killing humans in order to feed his vindictive ego.

Claude is everything that Zeb is not. Claude shows compassion, for humans as well as for vampires. Claude’s one flaw is that he is a little too hesitant in administrating coven law.

Abbie is the human caught in the middle of the two vampires. Abbie settled for being Zeb’s mate out of necessities, there was never any love between Abbie and Zeb. Trapped into staying mated or breaking the bond and dying; Abbie is simply going through the motions of a happy life while secretly yearning for signs of attraction from Claude.

Bailey Bradford’s Sunshine is Overrated is an impressive saga that I enjoyed.
