As an assessor, Isabella was in a unique position to hide some of the women designated as breeders.  When she is caught, she finds that her punishment may not be that bad since she will be bound to the Overseer.

Overseer’s Chain is the third book in the Brace for Humanity series.  In this book, we finally get Isabella’s story as she has been a secondary character in the previous ones.  This book is fascinating as the author went into a lot of detail about the humans on Imrahl and it was a surprise.  I must give the author kudos for the way she has created this world.

Isabella has been given a lot of access to the history and confidential files not available for humans.  Iktabi didn’t realize just how much Isabella knew, but her knowledge becomes invaluable when he assigns her as his assistant for her punishment.  What Isabella didn’t know when he first tethered her to him is that she is also Iktabi’s mate.

This book is a little different as well because it tells the story of Imrahl and the Rrassic.  It is an interesting story, especially because of the threats the Rrassic use to keep the humans in line.  Several characters from the previous stories show up.

It will be interesting to see where the rest of this series goes considering this new information.  I am looking forward to reading those stories.

Lindsey and her parents went into hiding once her sister became the Kalquorian Empress. They are barely surviving after the nuclear holocaust when Bacoj, Japohn and Vax crash on the planet.

Alien Salvation is the fourth book in the Clans of Kalquor series and picks up several months after the leaders on Earth decided to explode nuclear bombs as Earth was invaded.  The survivors are barely hanging on.  The author is very descriptive about what is going on as people try to survive.

Lindsey approaches the Kalquorians to make a trade for food because she and her parents are barely surviving.  After a deal is struck, Lindsey gets to know them and the four decide to become a clan.  Because of who Lindsey is, the men make a decision that could have some extreme consequences.

The author did a good job showing the emotional impact that decision had on the whole family.  I had to laugh about Empress Jessica’s reactions when she found out about it, as it seems she has quite a temper.  While there were some secondary characters, the story revolved around Lindsey, Bacoj, Japohn and Vax, as well as Lindsey’s parents.  I loved the mother’s reactions about the deference she was given as Jessica’s mother.

I really enjoy reading this series and will be reading it again, as well as the next book.  This book has been revised and re-released after being published before by a different publisher.  The purchase link is for Amazon as the book is not available through the publisher in the United States, but is available through them outside.

Nierra is a Corian, one of the ‘promised ones.  She is taken by the Confederacy, but until she is mated, they keep her on a short leash.  Nierra is very surprised when it turns out she has two mates, not one, and that they are dragons.

Corian: Ragadon Desire is the first book I’ve read by Kymber Rowean.  I do hope there will be more stories in the future about this world.  I do have to say when I first started reading this book, it was slow and I got a little confused because of the way it started.  There wasn’t a whole lot about this universe and it wasn’t until a third of the way into the book that things started to make sense.  Things do jump around between what is going on with Brok, Colin and Nierra.

General Dolvechz is the man that is keeping Nierra, along with others, prisoner. The General is a very cruel man and has plans to escape the Confederacy since he has lost power because Nierra hasn’t mated in the years she has been a prisoner.  Lots of other characters help the story along, both good and bad.  There are so many twists in this book once you get past the first part.

Sabotage and intrigue abound as Nierra, Brok, Colin and others try to escape Dolvechz and his manipulations, especially since he is also being hunted.  There are a few light-hearted moments toward the end, and some people are reunited with family.  I did love the ending.

As I stated above, I would like to read about some of the other characters in the future and hope the author turns this into a series as several threads need answering.

Wulf and the Bounty Hunter

Wulf meets Yakira as a child, after she steals his credit chip.  Not only does he discover she is a Jones, he realizes she is his mate and wants to protect her until she is 21, when he can claim her.  Yakira gets away and doesn’t meet Wulf again until she is close to being of age.

Wulf and the Bounty Hunter is the sixth book in the Coletti Warlords and highlights another Warlord and a Jones woman.  Those that have read previous stories know that a Jones woman has a way of constantly being in trouble and is also very smart and, for the most part, is also a warrior with lots of psychic talent.  Yakira is no exception to this rule, as is the non-stop action in this stories.

I love the way Ms. Koger works humor into her stories.  The women are constantly snarky to all, including their Warlords.  A lot of characters from previous books show up as Yakira and the sister of her heart constantly come up with ideas that get them into trouble. I was constantly laughing at the mishaps.

Between kidnappings, threats, and trying to get together, Yakira and Wulf get to know each other and Yakira doesn’t want to wait to mate.  Even though things get hot and heavy between them mentally and with kisses, Wulf keeps putting her off.  They have some great chemistry and I laughed at how quickly they left their bonding ceremony.

I am looking forward to reading more about the Coletti Warlords in the future.  This is one series I am looking forward to reading over and over again.

Petra is constantly being rejected as a mate because she can’t have children.  She is very surprised when Kartoc, her guard, approaches her about becoming his mate.

The Aliens Holiday Gift by Lee-Ann Wallace is the first book by this author I have read.  It is a fast read but there were a few gaps regarding questions.  Why the Morgaths were looking for mates among human women was a question never answered.  The mating process was interesting because of the various transformations involved for both parties.

Kartoc has a reason he chose Petra that is revealed toward the end after she goes through a traumatic event.  I could understand why Petra decided Kartoc could have anything he wanted after that revelation.

Several of the secondary characters were interesting and one decided to ignore the rules for choosing a mate, which resulted in a tragedy for him.  Unfortunately, Petra also had a hand in what happened because she wasn’t quite ready to change her mind about leaving Morgath.

I will be looking for other books by this author to read and will probably read this one again.

Finn Mayer has wanted to be in the FBI since he was 14 years old.  He’s worked hard to accomplish his dreams, putting up with more than anyone should so when he is denied his dream, he is devastated.  Just when he is ready to find something else, he gets a call that changes his life.

Five Minutes Longer is a new book by author Victoria Sue. I want to say right off the bat that I hope the author plans to turn this into a series as there is still a lot of story to tell.  All the characters, both main and secondary, will pull you into the story from the beginning and you will not put the book down until you have finished it.

Finn is dyslexic and has worked hard to overcome his problem.  He has also kept his learning problems to himself to keep from facing the ridicule his brother and mother would send his way.  Unfortunately, Finn does not get into the FBI like he wanted.  To make matters worse, he finds himself the target of his mother and brother’s BS and decides he has had enough.  Getting ready to walk out the door, Finn get a call asking him to come to Florida for training.

Talon is an enhanced human.  Bigger and stronger than a normal human, enhanced humans also have special powers, all of which make them targets of those afraid of them.  Hoping to show that normals have nothing to fear from the enhanced, Talon and the FBI form a special unit, but there is one problem.  The powers that be want the unit to be made up of normals and enhanced, something that Talon and the others making up the unit are against.

Unaware that he is being set up to fail from the beginning, Finn is excited about his chance to get into the FBI.  Then he realizes what is going on.  Determined to prove to everyone that he can be an asset, he works hard, but it’s too bad he can’t get Talon out of his mind.

The attraction between these two is intense.  Both want the other but fear getting involved.  Talon also has a few issues that pop up, keeping him from admitting just what the young normal means to him.  Outside factors also play into the men’s relationship, usually showing up just when you think Talon and Finn have a chance at a relationship.

There are a lot of little twists and secrets in Five Minutes Longer that will keep you reading.  There are also moments that will tug at your heart strings.  As I stated in the beginning, I really hope the author plans to make this a series.  I am curious to see what happens with the other members of H.E.R.O.  and I think Talon and Finn have more to tell as well.  Fans of the mystery, science fiction, or action sub-genres are sure to like this story and should really give it a try.

Cassidy has been in a convent on Europa for three years.  As her grandfather comes to get her to go back to Earth, the convent is taken captive by the Kalquorians.  Cassidy becomes the chosen one for Captain Tranis and his clan.

Alien Conquest is the third book in the Clans of Kalquor series.  This book goes into more detail about how the Kalquorians try to re-educate the women, although the medic in the clan determines that it is the wrong approach to take.  I will warn readers that there is more sex in this book compared to the others I read previously, and there are some things that could cause some triggers.

One of the reasons the Captain was following Cassidy’s grandfather was because of his position in the military on Earth, as the Kalquorians want to end the war by an invasion. There is a major surprise for everyone in the Galaxy that I did not see coming.  This will affect all the rest of the stories in the series for sure.

I really liked Cassidy.  She was extremely smart and wanted to learn as much as she wanted, but her education had been cut short.  As Tranis, Lidon and Degorsk were trying to break her repressive training regarding pleasure, they discovered this fact and offered to provide tutors so she could study anything she wanted once they returned to Kalquor.  It was clear the chemistry between the four was hot, but Cassidy kept going back and forth about enjoying it, or thinking she was terrible for enjoying herself.  Things do work out in the end.

I have enjoyed reading this series so far and am looking forward to reading more. As with previous books in this series, Alien Conquest is available through this publisher if you reside outside the U.S., otherwise the book can be purchased at Amazon (hyperlink for title), which is where the author’s website sends readers in the U.S.  Readers also need to be aware that this series was published previously and has been revised for Totally Bound.

Bree has been reclassified as a breeder.   While she is out trying to furnish her new home, she is kidnapped.  Arix happens to be the hunter on duty when the call comes that one of the prized breeder’s is missing.

Heart of the Hunted is the second book in the Brace for Humanity series by Viola Grace.  Ms. Grace’s new series has some very interesting tidbits about Imrahl in this book, including why the planet exists.  I like this new series so far.

Bree has been kidnapped to be a breeder on another planet. She escapes at first with the help of some interesting animals, called the skark, that think she smells like one of them.  Arix finds her, but must rescue her again after the kidnappers find her again.  The descriptions that the author uses to explain what is going on with the kidnapped women is very vivid.

Arix and Bree end up bonded due to an accident, but Bree is very happy about the situation as they have some intense chemistry.  I had to laugh about one of the characteristics that the Luthin-Rrassic have and what happens when Arix takes Bree out for dinner.  When Bree ends up pregnant there is another surprise in store for both.

I like this this new world that Ms. Grace has created.  The society she has created is interesting, though it did take some getting used to the reason for the Breeder classification that some women are given.  Some of the antics that the women do are funny and, in this case, the skark add to the fun.

I am looking forward to more about Imrahl and the various Rrassic as they try to win their mates.

Lianne ends up being unique on the planet where the Rrassic take her. She ends up placed as a Breeder that has a job.  Sorrok does everything in his power to protect her even as he tries to court her for his mate.

Untrained Fascination is the first book in Viola Grace’s news series, Brace for Humanity.  Ms. Grace has done it again with this new world she created.  In this one, humans were kidnapped by the thousands, threatened to keep them in line and are actually under the protection of the Rrassic without their knowledge.  The various species of Rrassic that were introduced were interesting, as the species also determines their job.

Sorrok was actually one tasked to find humans, and had selected Lianne as his mate.  He has to woo her but there are others that want her for theirs.  Lianne is attracted to Sorrok but tries to keep things slow.  Circumstances change that after a few days.

I loved some of Lianne’s friends and the loyalty they showed to her.  There are several funny scenes involving the women, especially when there is an impromptu meeting with the other Breeders.  Several rogue Rrassic make life difficult for both Sorrok and Lianne.  There were some twists that Sorrok and some higher ups did not anticipate which create some intense moments.

Untrained Fascination is a fast paced read that I did not want to stop reading until I finished it.  I am looking forward to reading the next book in the Brace for Humanity series as the author has indicated she will be exploring the various species of the Rrassic.

Dog Days

When Danny ran away to Durham, he did so hopping he would be able to start over.  For a while it looked like he was going to get his wish, but then the weather changed.  Next his ex, Jack, showed up, followed shortly by Jack’s evil twin.  Then people started dying and Danny knew he had no choice but to accept who and what he was.

Dog Days is an interesting shifter story that is a little different from the norm.  The mythology that the author used to create the world in which the story is based gives the story a refreshing feel.  There is also the fact that in this book it is possible for shifters and humans to mate and their offspring to shift, those offspring do not shift into wolves but into dogs.  This part of the world building plays an important part in the story as one of the main characters is a dog.

Danny is a dog.  He was raised in the Scottish Highlands by his mother.  This is not unusual, but the pack they lived in would have sent humans running for the hills.  Dogs are just about the lowest rank in the pack so Danny’s life was hell growing up.  It did not help that he was gay and in love with one of the alpha’s sons.  As soon as he got the chance, Danny left the pack to start over someplace no one would know him.

Jack is one of the alpha’s sons, and has a twin brother, Gregor.  In a pack where strength is everything, the relationship between the brothers was contentious, to say the least.  The fact that their mother went to her grave without revealing who was born first does not help either.  When the weather goes from bad to worse, the shifters see this as a sign that their world is about to change and for Jack’s father that means choosing his heir.  Unfortunately for Jack his father picks Gregor, exiling Jack as a result.

I really wanted to like Dog Days.  The premise of the book was really interesting and the story did pull me in at times, when it was not confusing me.  It was the characters that really kept me from enjoying the story however.  To me Jack, at times, bordered on being verbally abusive towards Danny and, while I realize that in this world dogs are low on the totem pole, every time he called Danny, Danny Dog, I found myself cringing.  I was also a little shocked by the ending, as I did not see anything on the publisher’s or author’s site that says this is the start of a series.

Tasha is kidnapped along with her niece, Princess Noelle of Kalquor, to be used as a pawn in a civil war between the factions that want only purebloods on Kalquor.  Tasha is one of the Earth women that is supposed to mate with one of the clans to help with the repopulation of Kalquor.  Unexpected help comes from Clan Falinset.

Alien Hostage is the tenth book in the Clans of Kalquor series.  Kalquor has basically split into two factions, the purebloods that don’t mind being extinct within 300 years and those that want their people to survive by clanning with women from Earth.  I love the world the author has created as it is interesting, especially the reason for having clans.  Each clan consists of a Dramok or leader, the Imdiko or caretaker, and the Nobek or protector.

The Basma, leader of the pureblood group, has resorted to kidnapping and blackmail to get his way. Clan Falinset, whose Dramok is actually the biological son of the Basma, does everything he can to keep his father out of his life.  Unfortunately, it is difficult as the other two members, Nur and Wekniz, have been recipients of the Basma’s shenanigans.  Clan Falinset hides Tasha and the Noelle once they escape the camp they had been taken to.

As the four adults learn more about each other and start learning to trust each other, they wonder if Tasha will be able to clan with the men since Falinset, Nur and Wekniz will come under suspicion, once their family ties are revealed.  That doesn’t stop them from having some very intense sex scenes during their time together.

Several characters from the previous books show up as secondary characters, including Norpak. Norpak is fascinating, especially with the act she does, and ends up being a big part of getting Noelle back home.  The resolution of the civil war was still up in the air by the end of the story and I am looking forward to reading the next story in the Clans of Kalquor book.

As with Alien Embrace, Alien Hostage is available through this publisher if you reside outside the U.S., otherwise the book can be purchased at Amazon (hyperlink for title), which is where the author’s website sends readers in the U.S.  Readers also need to be aware that this series was published previously and has been revised for Totally Bound.

Earth is now run by a fanatical religious government that will do anything to keep its citizens “pure”.  Amelia is an invited resident artist on Plasius but comes to the attention of the Kalquorians. What happens when cultures collide?

Alien Embrace is the first book in the Clans of Kalquor.  This is the first book by author Tracy St. John I have read and really enjoyed this book.  A couple of things need to be said about purchasing this book though.  The book is available through this publisher if you reside outside the U.S., otherwise the book can be purchased at Smashwords*, which is where the author’s website sends readers in the U.S.  Readers also need to be aware that this series was published previously and has been revised for Totally Bound. I also caution readers that the abduction scenario can cause some triggers as there are some scenes that may be construed as dubious consent.  That being said, I really enjoyed reading this book as the author created an interesting world.

Because of the problems regarding the population of the Kalquor, they have come up with an interesting social structure of three men creating a clan or family unit, which needs to find their Matara.  Amelia’s clan consists of a Council member, a medical officer and a soldier.  The Kalquor have some unique physical characteristics that make for some very intense sex scenes.

Amelia has to overcome some major hang ups due to her upbringing on earth.  Most of her resistance to becoming the beloved of the clan is mental.  Even though Plasius’s people are very open about sex, even in public, Amelia has learned to ignore it as much as possible, even though her friends among them can’t quite understand.

Cultures clash when Amelia becomes pregnant and marries into the clan.  Despite the bad guys and the way Amelia is taken from her clan, things work out.  The author has a way of describing things that will take you right into the story and got my blood pressure up with some of the intensity of the story.  I had to laugh at the way the Plasius leader took charge in one scene toward the end of the book.

I am looking forward to reading more stories in this series.

Minerva is wasting away as she waits for her daughter to get out of the tank. Her daughter had to be put in it after she got to the point Minerva couldn’t keep carrying her.  What she didn’t know is that the father is on his way to make sure Minerva is still around to take care of her.

Quit is the 36th and last book in the Terran Times Second Wave series.  Minerva was one of the first generation of Terrans in the Terran Times series.  Minerva has a unique talent that has allowed her to act as Recruiter Norz for years.  Now as her role changes to wife and mother, she is chosen to fill another role that will be unique to Terra.

I loved Imbolt’s description.  He would definitely be memorable under any circumstances, but he fills his role as ambassador and later Minerva’s husband admirably. Imbolt also made sure Minerva got well and I had to laugh at some of Minerva’s minor rebellions when they first met.  They hit it off very well together.

I am going to miss this series.  Despite each story being very fast paced, the author transported readers to various worlds and created some unique societies on those worlds. I think it was wonderful that the series ended with the tie in to the first group of Terrans that went into space.  I will be reading the Terran Times Second Wave series again.

Within the Nyal Imperium, prison guards have a special talent that can keep prisoners calm. Amylia has been recruited by the Volunteer Project and is a guard at one of their prisons. At a court appearance, Amylia is kidnapped along with the prisoner, the Queen of Rohul, she is guarding in court who is being broken out of prison. Since Amylia befriended the Prime Queen while she was a prisoner, as a reward, Amylia becomes a province queen with the Queen's brother-in-law, Gyrion, as her Consort.

Quell is the 35th book in the Terran Times Second Wave series. In one way, this book is different from the previous ones in this series.  Rohul is ruled by women.  Each province is ruled by a Queen and their consort, with one Prime Queen for the planet.  I was surprised about the way a Province Queen could become the Prime Queen and how quickly it could happen.

I had to laugh at some of Gyrion’s antics after he met Amylia.  There are several instances that endear her to the people, one is where she uses her power to vanquish one of Gyrion’s former lovers.  The instance with the beast was so funny, especially the days that followed that instance.

I loved the way Amylia handled the Imperium when they came looking for her and their former prisoner.  Amylia and Gyrion learn about each other and their chemistry is hot.  The epilogue was a surprise.

I enjoyed reading Quell and will be reading it again for the humor in it. There is one more book in the Terran Times Second Wave series according to the author and a lot of answers will be given in that story.

Camile is a paid companion that is being used to cover an ambassador’s preference for men.  When they attend a festival on Namkor, Camile is given what the natives call the gift, which means she cannot leave the planet for at least a year. Mordem is one of the Guardians that will be training her.

The 35th book in the Terran Times Second Wave series, Quick, is a little different than previous stories in the series.  Camile is chosen to become a Guardian by the planet and also becomes hated because she is an outsider.  Several of her relationships change due to her new status.

Her main instructor is Mordem, who had been her lover before she was chosen.  I found it interesting that those chosen could reject their gift and go back to their previous lives after a certain time.  Another interesting fact in this story is that Camile and Mordem could not be lovers until after she had finished training, since other societies in this series could.  The chemistry between Camile and Mordem is intense and I did have to laugh about the fact that Mordem’s brother also tried to make a play for Camile and some of the antics he used.

The author continues to make this series fresh with each new world and societal mores she creates.  Readers should be aware that references to the Yemish ambassador’s sexual preferences are mentioned even though there is actually no sexual scenes. There are only a few more stories for this series in the works and I am looking forward to reading them.

Anna discovers that she has royal Nyal blood when she starts having some strange symptoms.  After talking with her family, she decides to become a bride to escape having what happened to her grandmother happen to her.

Quiver is the 34th book in the Terran Times Second Wave series.  Because Anna is Terran, she is offered, by the Nyal Prince, to one of the Guardians first instead of going through a bride auction.  Quake takes her after doing some research and offers a rather large bride price, partly to irritate his mother.  The chemistry between Anna and Quake is hot.

This story gives more information about the Nyal Imperium, specifically regarding getting a bride.  One thing that is key is that the bride is having her first heat.  It is expected that by the end of the couples bonding, she will be pregnant.  I loved Quake’s mother.  Her whole attitude from when she first met Anna and the change once she determined she would be a grandmother was funny.  Then she took Anna under her wing to the point that Anna was a little overwhelmed.

One great thing about the Terran Times Second Wave series is that the author has created some very interesting worlds and people that populate them.  While there are some mini-series within this one, most are standalone stories that transport the reader to that world.

I am looking forward to the next book in this series.

Todd and Nick are on the move, heading for Yellowknife and the chance to start over.  Along the way the two men come to the aid of others also looking for the chance of freedom.  Change is in the air for all of them and as long as Todd and Nick can stay together, the two know everything will turn out fine.

Ringed Love is the sixth and final book in the Sentries series by Elizabeth Noble. It is also the sequel to Tethered Pair.  The author starts the story in a way that readers will find refreshing; with Nick showing a group of young adults what it means to be a vet and sentry.  I had to laugh as the group was charged with helping a cow give birth.  One of the young men reminded me of my nephew when he walked in on the cat having kittens.  This, of course, had me laughing even more.  From there, the author takes the readers back, reminding them how the two met and some of the obstacle they faced along the way.

We get to see the continued strong connection Nick and Todd have.  The chemistry between them heats up the pages and the light BDSM that exists in their relationship is done in a way that flows with the story and does not seem forced.  Then there is the matter of their jobs as sentries.  The “things” the men go up against are fierce, yet Nick and Todd go out of their way protecting others from them.  But time passes and when the men’s lives change, it becomes clear that, while there is a need for sentries, it is a job for more than Nick and Todd, so the two begin training others.

Watching the men grow old is a change from what we normally see in stories.  It is normal for stories to leave things to the reader’s imagination, yet Ms. Noble takes the readers on a journey that hits on many points of Nick’s and Todd’s lives.  The ending is also different than what we normally see and I have a hard time deciding if it was an ending I liked, or if I would have been happier with things left to my imagination.

Sentries is a series that I have enjoyed reading.  Getting to know the characters and the world they lived in was fun and I hate to see the series come to an end.  Fans of this series are sure to love the way in which the author wraps everything up and those that have not yet tried these books should know that this is a series that must be read in order.

Freddy discovers she has alien DNA after she volunteers for the Volunteer Project.  Based on that DNA, she is the Oracle from a race that was thought to be gone.  One of the Guardians on her new world turns out to be her mate.

Query is the 32nd book in the Terran Times Second Wave series.  Other than a few mishaps, this story is different in that there is not major crisis that Freddy has to overcome.  I loved the reason she has Sneed, her toy dragon.  I also had a good laugh at some of the antics of the Guardians and later when Freddy finds out a drink she was given gives her the same reaction as the tea she drinks while she is giving people their fortunes.

Rune is also from a race that had to adapt, but they have a history of taking Terrans as mates.  It was entertaining how Rune and Freddy get together, especially since Freddy already knew he was her mate.

The glimpses received about the other Guardians are interesting, especially Ember and her brother, Rescue.  I really liked some of the names of the secondary characters in the story.  It will be fun to see some of their stories in the future of this series.

With no money and a mouth to feed, Violet Wilcox has her back against the wall.  Being jobless and having no family to help her leaves Violet with very few options.  The alien dating agency is her last hope.  Surely there was a male looking for a family somewhere.  Or at least that’s what Violet thought until the agency asked her to leave and refused her help.

Tiraz wasn’t going to stand by and watch the woman and boy be brushed off like trash, so he takes them home.  It would be hard, but not impossible to find a mate for Violet.  Until that time, Tiraz showers mother and son with some of the things missing in their lives.  Tiraz keeps his promise of helping Violet search for a mate, but realizes his mistake as the attraction between them grows.  Will Tiraz be able to walk away from Violet and Simon without looking back?

In such a short time, the three of them become a family.  Tiraz says he isn’t ready to settle down but his actions show otherwise.  Violet wants a father for her son, but more than that, she wants Tiraz in her heart forever.  Neither of them is ready for the feelings that come in like a storm.  Something happens to Simon that forces the couple to face reality and make a decision.  Tiraz upsets Violet by taking actions into his own hands before discussing it with her.  In the end, Violet accepts Tiraz’s reasons and forgives him and they work towards their happy ending.

Violet & Her Alien Matchmaker is the first installment in the Interstellar Love Agency series.   Jessica Coulter Smith have given readers a story that will make their hearts beat faster from all the touching family scenes.  Part of me felt Violet’s struggle as a single mother.  No matter how hard she tried, she just couldn’t get ahead.  It made me sad when I discovered some of the most basic things she and Simon had been doing without.  Tiraz was so generous with his affection and his resources.  He was obviously meant to be a father, whether he thought he was ready or not.  Because Violet had been exposed to so little, everything Tiraz does for her seems even grander.  If you want to be introduced to a man who knows how to make a girl feel special, then you need to read about Tiraz.
