Aster
came back from the dead with a special talent.
When Aster is assigned as a bodyguard to Lady Abrieth, she meets Yodin,
who is considered the god of war on Rekfa.
What happens when she meets him at a celebration?
Negative, the latest
in the Terran Times Second Wave
series, is a bit different than the previous stories because it involves beings
more like gods than people. I was
intrigued by the author’s description of how Aster and Yodin became the way
they were.
The
avatar on Rekfa takes Aster away from Yodin, so she can grow into her powers
and talent. Yodin isn’t happy, but later
realizes it was right, though he finds the separation difficult. I had to laugh at some of the situations he
got himself into as the god of war and sex.
I could also understand some of Aster’s feelings when she learned more
about Yodin.
Aster
and Yodin have some great chemistry together.
Aster knows she wants to be with him, but knows she can’t live in his
dark world. Yodin realizes she needs
light and a way to create things, so he ends up compromising so he can make Aster
happy.
The
avatar and some of Yodin’s old friends help things along, though there is one
sad event that casts a pall for a while.
There were also some humorous scenes involving the avatar, Lady Abrieth,
and Lerodan.
This
book was a fun book to read and can be read alone. I am curious to see what the next one is
about.
