Tyler Curtis is on the top of the music world. Unfortunately, he is paying a price that is too high and knows he is due for a crash, sooner than later. Jordan is a computer geek who is waiting for Mr. Right and is not willing to settle for Mr. Right Now. When his sister wins tickets and back-stage passes to the Tyler Curtis concert, she forces him to go with her. Determined to sleep with the gorgeous young rock star, she has the whole night planned. Unfortunately, Jordan meets Tyler first and is totally enthralled with the young man. Surprised by not only Tyler’s innocence but also with the strong feelings he is having for the rock star bad boy, Jordan wonders just where things are going. With a controlling manager, a scheming mom, and the ever-present media, the two men have more than the normal relationship issues to face.

I loved The Curtis Reincarnation by Zathyn Priest. Alec Tyler aka Tyler Curtis is one of those characters that you just can’t help falling in love with. Although he has had an extremely hard life, he still has a naivety about him. Jordan is the strong silent knight that sweeps in to rescue Alec. The two men literally fall in love at first sight. The dark world of a rock-n-roll star crumbles fast as these two men fight to stay together. Karma has a way of catching up with those who try to hurt Alec giving him the closure he needs. I would strongly recommend The Curtis Reincarnation to any reader of the gay genre.

Noah and Charlie have grown up together. They’ve never been close friends. But with Noah and Charlie living back in their old neighbourhood, and the fact they’re both out as gay men, they come together in hot passion. But Charlie keeps pulling away, and Noah doesn’t know what to do. But when Charlie realises its Noah he wants and needs, he goes to find his man.

Pulling Away is a great story and I enjoyed it immensely. It touched all the subjects I adore, and it did so very well. There was angst and some hot lovin’ in this story. My only complaint was that it ended much too soon for my liking. However, it was an enjoyable ride.

Melody Haney has the voice of an angel, but she stopped singing at the death of her young son. Her life is stagnant and filled with pain, yet longing for love and another chance at happiness. Life changes when she’s asked to sing for seriously ill children at a local children’s hospital. Volunteering at the hospital is good for her heart, but it puts her into a position she never expects when she comes under suspicion for the theft of expensive chemotherapy drugs, which could be used to dose children with paranormal potential. The new man in her life Dr. Devon Siegal who is a pediatric oncologist at the hospital, is disturbed by the possibility that Melody is involved, but refuses to believe in her guilt. He’s determined to stand by her side in spite of what the evidence shows.

Melody’s Song is a sweet and touching romance, showing that life and love is still possible after suffering a life-altering loss. The story is well-written and believable, the characters of Melody and Devon well-matched and made for each together. The pace is a little slow in spots, but always picks up, pulling you back into the story. Ms. Keller’s expression of Melody’s continuing pain at the loss of her child was tender and heart-wrenching, and when she started singing again…perfect.

Kevin is a former police officer who, after suffering traumatic injuries in an automobile accident, developed special abilities. Unable to return to his job, and after a disastrous attempt to help the federal authorities, Kevin retreated to Wyoming. While not exactly happy, he is content with his life. One phone call from his brother in law changes all that. Connor has just become a detective. Tragic circumstances in his life lead him into law enforcement and the last thing he wanted to do was baby-sit some make believe psychic. Working together is a little touch and go for the two men as they learn how to deal with each other. After Kevin has a particularly hard time handling one of his visions, Connor realizes that everything he thought about himself would have to change because Kevin has become his new priority. As the two men look for a serial killer they soon realize that it’s those closer to home they may have to worry about.

I absolutely loved The Long Way Home by ZA Maxfield. I loved it so much that if my PDA had not broken, I would have reread it right away. The characters, both strong law enforcement types, each struggle with traumas from their pasts. While Connor's past has caused him to deny his preference for men, Kevin is openly gay. This, however, is not the sticking point in their relationship; Kevin’s special abilities are. The way that the author handles the criminal aspects of the story, while at the same time allowing the men to express both humor and their growing love for each other keeps what otherwise could be too heavy of a story enjoyable. The Long Way Home is an exceptional book and should be on everyone’s to-be-read list.

Beth found the man of her dreams working in her neighborhood gym. The first time she saw Harry left Beth reeling with a desire to meet him. Now if only she could stop being a chicken and approach the handsome gym owner. Harry looked at Beth and knew things were different, that she was different. He couldn’t forget Ky, the man who carved a place in his heart two years ago, but his love for Beth was undeniable.

Harboring feelings for Harry has finally taken its toll on Ky. He can’t deny his love any longer and has come to stake his claim. Will he allow a little thing like Harry’s relationship with Beth to stand in his way? All three people have but one goal – to find a lasting loving relationship. Will they be able to form a sound relationship together?

In One-Two Punch, Katie Allen proves given the right motivation, love can flourish in any setting. This was a nice change from the norm by using a gym for a majority of the story. I also enjoyed the suspense laced throughout this tale. Beth proved women don’t always have to be willing victims. I’m ready to sign up for a few boxing classes. After reading about supporting character Dominic’s love of Girl Scout cookies, I’ll never be able to buy another box without thinking about this book. I would love to see him find a woman who feeds his sweet tooth. If you have a thing for former soldiers, sweaty men, and a bit of action mixed in your love story, pick up a copy of One-Two Punch.
