Julio’s need to help the innocent had him going from the regular police department to the Humane Society, where he works hard to bring dog fighters to justice. His latest assignment nets him more than just the bad guys.

T.A. Chase’s latest book, Voice for the Silent, had me ready to cry more than once. The story line, with its many side stories, will hold the reader’s attention. Voice for the Silent, however, is a bit on the dark side and will leave you wondering about the way some humans treat those weaker.

The characters are strongly written and very intriguing. Julio is an investigator for the Humane Society and has seen the worst of man. Paine is a young man who has known nothing but abuse for as long as he can remember. The men meet when Julio tries to bring down Paine’s uncle. Their connection is instantaneous and Julio’s need to take things slow, for numerous reasons, is understandable. Readers will love how the author empowers Paine during the process of the story.

There are also many secondary characters, some good some not, who will hold the readers attention. These characters are just as intriguing as Julio and Paine. In fact, Betsy and Katie, Paine’s cousins, broke my heart. Even though the topics covered in Voice for the Silent are on the darker side, this is a great story that I will be reading again.

Trapped by Ice by Allie Standifer - 4.5 Nymphs

After being parachuted off course, Teague doesn’t think that the new experimental drug the military is testing is worth the side effect of a constant hard on. Kendil is resentful that she has to be at the South Pole scouting out a new location for a toy factory and having to watch out for humans. This was a fun story to read and I could feel the ice melt when Teague and Kendil got together. Kendil’s reaction to Cupid’s arrows was priceless, as we all sometimes wonder if we are being loved for ourselves and not some artificial reason.

Tempered by Ice by Brenna Zinn – 4.5 Nymphs

Six months ago, Tasha found Axel almost frozen as he was testing the new drug he had been working on. Axel thought he had been hallucinating and after he got back to base, he tried to improve Thermavan. While testing the drug at the South Pole, he runs into Tasha again and realizes he can’t live without her. This story was a little different even though there was a common theme. I was disappointed by that, as I was waiting to see Axel’s reaction to one of Cupid’s arrows. Axel and Tasha definitely had the chemistry going between them.
Melting the Ice by Desiree Holt – 4.5 Nymphs

Sonia is the elf in charge of the mission to find a new location for the new toy factory. She ends up getting trapped in her tent by Cupid’s Vinions. Jaguar Martin ends up in her tent attempting to get shelter from the storm and hating the side effects of the drug he is testing. This story did not include a reaction about getting hit by Cupid’s arrows, either. The chemistry between these two will melt ice, but their relationship was peppered with constant interruptions from the assault by the Vinions and suspicions each have.

Christmas Goes Camo was a very fun read. I have to give kudos to all three authors for the imaginative use of the elf names and the whole concept surrounding the war between Santa and Cupid. I do wish the last two stories stayed with the concept of getting hit by Cupid’s arrows though.

The fact about military drug testing was realistic and I appreciated the fact that all three men knew they were testing this drug; while in real life, this is not always the case. I was laughing about the reactions the elves had to the men and the men’s reaction to the whole concept of battle elves. I will be reading this one again, and may make this an annual holiday read.

Toby Heaton is passed over for a promotion at his advertising job. His boss said that Toby didn’t have the flair to sell his great ideas to the clients. Now Toby is on a mission to show his co-workers just how audacious he can be. After a few cocktails to settle his nerves, Toby walks across the street into the Mausoleum, a bar owned and operated by vampires. However, Toby’s undertaking to feed a big bad vampire changes when bartender Demetrios offers Toby an evening of pleasure, instead.

Phantasmagoric Feast is the first book in the Feasts of Fortune series. The intriguing plot is well written, with a dash of humor, in addition to a hint of drama. The in-depth description pulls the reader into the setting. The characters are believable. Toby is a human with an unassuming amiable personality. On the other hand, he has an exploratory temperament as well. Toby possesses an extraordinarily unique advantage over most humans that De finds incredibly appealing. Charismatic, in addition to being soothingly self-assured, De is the personification of sensuality, every gesture towards Toby is seductive, as well as being emotionally, genuine.

The secondary characters are fascinating with splendid interaction illustrated. The exquisite love scenes inspire vibrant mental images, along with physical reactions. Kate Steele has created a spectacular saga that I thoroughly enjoyed. I look forward to the next episode.

Kiri couldn’t wait for her shift to end. She was trying to focus on her work but her feet were killing her and the temptation of some of the club’s more adventurous clientele was starting to be too much for her. It didn’t help that everyone reminded her of what she had with Gage, before her slip of the tongue ruined everything. As hard as she tries not to punish herself, she can’t stop remembering the electricity between them as Gage connected with her in a way she has never experienced before, or since.

Used to getting what he wants, when he wants it, Gage is not a patient AI. He has money and he has power but something seems to be getting in the way of him having the girl. Nothing in the universe compared to the pleasure of sinking his cyber fangs into her neck ports so this forced separation does not sit well with him. Learning Kiri’s deepest secret had surprised him at first but her avoidance of him is starting to wear thin and he knows she isn’t fairing much better. Now he’s had a chance to think about what she means to him, and how her absence is effecting him, playtime is over and he’s not taking no for an answer

Connection is a very well thought-out, nicely paced story full of longing and lust. Firstly, the tension caused by Kiri’s surroundings fit perfectly with the telling of her and Gage’s back story. There’s misunderstanding on both characters’ parts, which highlight their lack of communication in the past despite their sexual connection. Kiri is a very amiable character and her feelings for Gage are intense. A lot was riding on Kiri and Gage’s confusion about their relationship and for the most part, this worked well, although I felt it could have delved a little deeper into the reasons behind Kiri’s fears. However, the characters confront their problems head on and the result is extremely satisfying. Also, there was just enough detail to the futuristic setting to allow me to imagine the characters in their environment but still leave me wanting to learn more. I definitely recommend Connection to fans of the genre.

Aidan is captured and rendered unable to shift and he is unaware that one of the sisters he was helping to rescue is his mate. Rowan is a pawn in her father’s sick plans and has borne the brunt of his displeasure since she was a child.

Forever Rowan is a very intense and fast paced story about a man, who is also a dragon. Aidan hates humans and is flabbergasted that his mate turns out to be human. The strength that Rowan shows around Aidan, and in defying her father, makes for an interesting backdrop as it shows the strength that some abuse victims can have. Ms. Summers draws you right into the story and she throws a very interesting twist in the middle of it.

The second book of the Creatures of the Night series can be read by itself. However, I recommend you read Saving Jenna before reading Forever Rowan, as you will get some background that will enhance the story in this book. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Rufus Jennison’s life is in turmoil. His two year relationship with his partner, Marley Racine, an office co-worker, fell apart after the man cheated, so now he’s suddenly single again and lonely. To make matters worse, his office is closing and he’ll soon be unemployed.

Stockton 'Stocky' Hastings is a lonely, unhappy man and he works with his brother in the plumbing business started by their father. He’s gay but barely admits it to himself, much less his homophobic family and as a man who needs to lose weight, doesn’t think he could ever attract the attention of a gorgeous man like Rufus. Stockton doesn’t realize how wrong he is.

Both men are filled with pain and insecurities from their past and to move their relationship forward, they have to get over the hindrances holding them back – the Games Men Play.

Games Men Play is a new release by multi-published author G. A. Hauser. It’s a realistic look at the pain and insecurities of two men who don’t know their own worth. The story doesn’t start off with a bang but rather at a steady pace, giving the reader time to both identify with the characters and to remember the pain and uncertainty of beginning a new relationship. Both men are likable and with their job, family, finances, weight or even cheating ex-lover difficulties, their problems are relatable to just about anyone.

Ms. Hauser did a very nice job getting these two men together. Stockton had a much more difficult time accepting that Rufus wanted him than the other way around. He was from a blue color family, had been closeted all his life and was overweight, making his self-worth tiny. Yet, through the ups and downs of their love, passion and misunderstandings, she worked her magic, resulting in a realistic plot that the reader could imagine happening to themselves or someone they know.

There are a few rough moments, so everything is far from perfect between these two, but still you can see a good progression in their relationship. While there are numerous characters playing supporting parts, the most important are Stockton’s family. For most of the story they aren’t what I’d call villains, but they’re certainly not loving or supportive either and when they discover Stockton is gay…watch out for the fireworks.

Jordan’s thrilled that his family is so supportive, as most men don’t find that when they come out; he just wishes they would stop nosing into his private life. When he attends his niece’s dance performance, he understands why his mother points out the visiting dancers in the program. Drawn to Davis from the moment he sees the man’s picture, he can’t wait to see him come out on stage. When he meets the man in person, he’s even more surprised by what he feels.

Grand Jeté is a fast moving holiday story that is just what readers will enjoy on a weekend afternoon. The story is a sweet romance about two young men lucky enough to find the love of their lives when they least expect it. Jordan is a young ER nurse who is getting over a bad relationship. Davis, a visiting ballet dancer whom Jordan has just seen dance, ends up in the ER. Their connection is immediate and the readers will not have any problem seeing the chemistry between them. While Jordan and Davis do have some minor issues to overcome there is no real angst in the story. There are many wonderful secondary characters, as Jordan has many supportive family members and friends that help move the story along. In fact, Jordan’s niece is a scene stealer at times.

If you’re looking for a pleasant way to pass the time, then pick up Grand Jeté by Diana Copland.

When it became known that men were being held captive in a sex slave ring, Sheriff Todd Zelner and six of his dragon friends set out to find their location and rescue them. When they break into the facility, they aren’t prepared for the horrible conditions or the number of men they find caged. With many more survivors than expected, each dragon takes several men home, agreeing to care for and protect them while they heal.

When Todd looks into one of the cages, he locks gazes with a man with the lightest blue eyes he’s ever seen. He’s stunned not only by the man but by his condition. He’s been beaten, has a broken leg and is mute. On releasing him, Todd discovers Dylan's been sharing the cage with Seth and Bryce. All three men need care and despite spending most of his long life alone, Todd can’t let them out of his sight. He volunteers to care for them himself. Can Todd learn to help these three abused men or will living with the three human males drive him crazy?

Dragon Ours is the second release in Joyee Flynn’s new North American Dragon series and it takes up shortly after where the first book left off. It’s a nicely paced sequel with a few brief flashes of returning characters; and while it would be helpful to have read Dragon Mine, it’s not imperative to understanding the storyline.

The story starts off quickly and progresses at a nice pace throughout, but there’s never a rush in the relationships between the men. There’s really more of a reluctance on Todd’s part to get involved stemming from a mysterious event in his past. This makes a nice plot twist, keeping the readers interest and encouraging them to continue reading…and it’s presented in a well described and believable manner. There’s additional historical information about dragon shifters in general and Todd’s clan specifically that’s nicely handled, fleshing out not just this story but the overall plot line as well.

The relationship between the four men is handled realistically, Todd always giving Seth, Bryce and Dylan the physical and emotional support they need...usually at the expense of what he wants. He’s a little too noble for his own good and Ms. Flynn has written his fear of possible reprisals against his mates well. I must admit that Dylan is my favorite of the three mates. His personality is by far the more open and vibrant. There is a nicely done mini-crisis involving Gabriel and several other individuals near the end that I feel the author handled particularly well. Read and enjoy.

Ryan is in the business of security so when he’s alerted to suspicious activity within his company, he has to act fast. His investigations lead him to one employee in particular – Claire – and Ryan soon decides that the hands-on approach is the best option when it comes to dealing with her. After an intense showdown in his office, it’s obvious to Ryan that Claire is running from something or someone. Intent on hiding her true self from him, he’s determined to use every power he has to figure out the real girl behind the calm façade.

Claire has managed to keep her head down and do a good job up until now but it seems she has outstayed her welcome this time. She never should have gotten so comfortable in this life and is appalled that she has put everyone around her in danger, just because she got lazy. She should have moved on a long time ago; before she started considering her colleagues as friends and certainly before her boss started to appear in her dreams.

With Ryan getting too close and the ever present threat of her past catching up with her looming, Claire is in trouble of losing control over everything she has worked so hard to put into place. She’s so tired of running…If only she could feel safe enough to let her guard down and rest for a while.

Keeping Claire is a fantastic story that captured my imagination from the start. Claire is a great character who really spoke to me. I wanted to know what she was running away from and why she was so adamant at keeping herself void of all emotion. She brought about so many questions and I was desperate to keep reading until I had my answers. I loved how balanced this story was; not relying on this strong, mystical being coming in and sweeping the girl of her feet but instead focusing on Claire’s life and the role Ryan plays in finally allowing her to move forward. Ryan too is a great character with substance. One thing is for sure, these two are the most stubborn people I have ever read about and are absolutely perfect for each other, if only they can look past their flaring tempers.

The chemistry between the two is just so sexy and perfect in keeping with the bubbling emotions underneath the surface throughout their encounters. I really hope I will one day get to read what the author has in store for Jacob, Ryan’s business partner, as I would jump at the chance of visiting this world again.

Sergeant Stephen Miranda responds to a disturbance call in front of one of the nightclubs in downtown Phoenix. The issue was quickly resolved so Stephen walks back to his patrol car, only to find a smiling young man leaning there; Zachary West, having had a few too many cocktails in addition to being a law-abiding citizen, is in need of a designated driver to deliver him safely home.

Gambling On Maybe is an amusing sexy snippet. The characters are believable. Zach has a vivacious personality that unconsciously persuades people around him to smile or stare in confusion. Zach wears designer fashions and makes no apology for his natural sexuality. Although very much attracted to Stephen, Zach is also aware of how images can have a negative impact on his career. With this in mind, Zach leaves the dating decision up to Stephen. The one intimate night Stephen shared with Zach is not enough for Stephen. Always concerned about his profession before, in–the-closet Stephen is wondering if work is worth the loss of his happiness. Fae Sutherland has created a fantastic short story that I enjoyed.

Nina Daniels is frustrated with her famous movie star brother’s behavior towards her and she’s finally reached the point of quitting her job, plus she hasn’t had the best of luck with the men in her life and she has decided to become a spinster. She has to drive through the snow to get clothes her brother left behind and looses control of the car, skidding on the ice and off the side of the bridge crashing into the cold water.

When she wakes up warm, naked and in pain, she starts to panic but when she sees Hawk, there is an instant attraction between them. He explains to her that he rescued her from the wreck and asks her if she is feeling better. On the day they are preparing to leave the house, an intruder appears, and he’s determined to kill Hawk for the death of his son. After an explosion destroys the house completely, Nina is frantic to find Hawk and the wolf but there is no sight of them.

Former FBI agent Hawk Richardson has settled for a life without complications. His companion is a wolf he raised from a puppy and they venture out only when necessary. Hawk is angry and bitter with the Bureau for the loss of sight in one eye and refuses any further help from his former job. Now that the blizzard is in full force and Nina can’t leave, his new found feelings begin to surface and the two of them find themselves trying to avoid the electrical feelings.

While recovering from injuries of the bomb the intruder had on him, Hawk tells his friend from the Bureau not to let Nina know he’s alive. He thinks she won’t want him with the added scars and he thinks he’s convinced himself, but still can’t get her out of his mind or heart. Little does he know how she truly feels about him or the tears she shed at her loss of his presence? When they do see each other again, there are too many questions for both of them that need answers.

The Winter Solstice will be added to my long list of keepers! After reading this fascinating story of how a lasting bond starts and an intruder bent on revenge had me hooked from the beginning. This is quite the twisted tale of suspense and a steaming romance that could have gone different ways. The flow of the writing Ms. Hanson has is smooth and the plot is quite spellbinding and it had me wondering the whole time what would happen next with the two main characters.

Hawk’s emotions proved to be his downfall and Nina is what kept him going by her confidence in him. He thought no woman would ever want him with his scars and self-imposed secluded lifestyle. I am really proud of Nina for her determination to go on with life without Hawk or working for her controlling brother and I won’t give away the surprise they experienced, but I think you will enjoy reading it for yourself.

Between managing her family’s business and trying to keep her cool despite her father’s constant interference, Kate hasn’t got time to think about her own life, or lack of one, as the case seems to be. Her father just can’t seem to accept that she is a grown woman who can be left alone to handle things for more than an hour without the world collapsing. After calling her for the umpteenth time to inform her that next door neighbor and childhood friend Johnny would be starting out as the new delivery guy, Kate didn’t think her day could get much worse. When Johnny walks through the doors however, Kate can’t believe her eyes. My, how little Johnny O’Brien has grown…

When John sees Kate, all the teenage fantasies of his beautiful older neighbor come back to tempt him. He thought he had gotten her out of his system long ago but just the chance of getting close to her has his heart racing. Unfortunately, she’s giving out mixed messages and he soon finds out why. It seems John will have to prove to Kate that he’s not the only one who’s all grown up if she’s ever going to see just how good it could be between them.

In Prescription for Love, Kate is at a crossroads in her life. She feels the need to make things up to her father for what he sees as past transgressions but it is becomes apparent that she’s in danger of losing herself to a life of misery if she doesn’t act soon. I really felt her plight and was willing her to choose happiness for herself. I really liked the way I was introduced the character of John. The words used to describe him allowed me to completely empathize with Kate’s struggle to separate the man before her from the boy in her memories. With satisfying chemistry and a real sense of two people meant to be in each other’s lives, it was very enjoyable to read Kate and John’s interactions.

I wish I could say the same for Kate’s relationship with her father. The way he behaves towards her is purposely irritating. While Kate’s journey from a child trying to please a parent to a grown adult willing to take responsibility for herself is uplifting, it’s pretty difficult to like her father or understand why he treats his daughter so badly. However, it was very good to read Kate’s thought process as she realized how unfair things were and that a change was definitely in order.

Ryan is in love with his best friend and has been for some time. Unfortunately, Chad happens to be straight, sort of. Trying to deal with his feelings for Chad, Ryan is not expecting the emotions new neighbor Greg is bringing out.

Sagittarius Blues is a fast-paced holiday story that brings two young men together. Both Ryan and Greg come from similar backgrounds, yet while Greg has become responsible, hard working and private; Ryan is laid back, unsure of what he wants to do, and still struggling to get by. The men soon find themselves in a relationship and the author has written some nice scenes to bring their feelings across. While I liked Ryan, his blog and song were great and I would have like to have heard the sock song, for me, the relationship between him and Greg did not have the same intense feeling that I am used to seeing from this author. The two do face some rough moments and I wanted to smack Greg for not being more supportive of Ryan. However, I can understand why he felt the need to step back. Ryan’s relationship with Chad plays heavily into the story and I liked the way Ms. Strauss wrapped up things between them. All in all, I found Sagittarius Blues to be a sweet story to read.

All Blake Savage ever wanted was to find his mate and settle down but the death of the previous Alpha pushed him into the leadership role himself. He loves his pack, but times have been tough lately with many of its members either sick or dying and no one has a clue as to why. He doesn’t have time to be attracted to Wade Collins, the pack Alpha who brings Eric, the Chosen One and his mate home, but that’s exactly what happens. It’s a shock to both Wade and Blake, but their being together triggers another important portion of the ancient prophecy, which they’re shown during a visit by the Ancient Ones. It may be difficult to understand but they play a vital role in keeping all the packs alive but when it’s all over, can their love and attraction keep them together?

Savage Moon Rising is the second release in Leiland Dale’s new Ancient Prophecy series and parts of the beginning slightly overlaps the first book, A Prophecy of Destiny. With that in mind, I feel for better overall story arc understanding, it would be best for the books to be read in order.

The story starts off swiftly and while it doesn’t stay at breakneck speed for the entire length, it continues at a good clip, picking up speed again near the end. There are plenty of high emotions, passion and sex between Alpha/mates Wade and Blake and a plethora of plot twists when more of the prophecy is revealed. Add to this some intriguing supporting characters and you have all the components added to keep the readers interested and the pages turning. Some of the new additions to the story are particularly interesting…Vampire Liviano De Luca and his family. I can’t wait to see what happens with him and maybe Darren???? Watch for the next book in the series.

Folklore researcher Hank Caldwell and Translator Daisuke Tachibana are headed to Aomori City, Japan by train when Hank is awakened by the yokai who has followed Hank from Tokyo. Hank is researching Japanese spirits as folklore, until he meets one personally, causing Hank to rethink the book he is writing on the subject.

The Red Thread of Forever Love is an amusing exploration into the Japanese supernatural culture. The plot features how the Christmas and New Year holidays are celebrated plus some of the various types of spirits on hand. The characters are, to some extent, believable. The yokai is gay, amorous in addition to being infatuated with underwear fashion. Hank is an openly gay man from Canada, researching for his PhD. Tachibana is a secretly gay, low salaried employee of the publisher sponsoring Hank’s book. Tachibana yearns to move to a country more tolerant of gay men.

At first, I was perplexed by the genre of this story. My impression was that this is a male friendship, rather than man love. There is no display of attraction or expressions of intimacy between Hank and Tachibana throughout the saga. However, there is a lovemaking scene at the end. Nicole Kimberling's cultural information is interesting, as well as, enjoyable.

Marten and Oberon have been together for a hundred years now. During that time not only have they grown as a couple, but their reputations within the vampire world have grown as well. When the queen summons them for a special mission, their world ends up changing more than they ever believed.

The Obscurati is the second book in the Vamp Camp series. Like the first, this book is sure to pull the readers right in and hold their attention till the very last page. The story, of course, continues to follow Marten and Oberon. The connection between the men is just as strong as in the first book but unlike the first book where the two first met, Marten and Oberon have now been together for a hundred years. Instead of growing bored with each other, the love they have continues to grow, as they will need it to hold them over when the times get rough.

I loved this story. The book is full of wonderful characters and an intense storyline. Like the first story, The Obscurati is told from Marten’s point of view. The snappy dialog, especially between Marten and Father Johannes, will leave you laughing. The relationship between Marten and Oberon continues to be intense, and even though Oberon is still the same extremely horny vamp we first met, there is no denying how much the men love each other. When a third person joins their little family, the men struggle with their new feelings for Lonny and how it will affect their relationship. While their worries don’t last long, they are realistic. Many of the wonderful secondary characters return as well, lending color to the story.

The Obscurati does not only revolve around Marten and Oberon. The author brings in some angst when the men are recruited by a secret vampire organization to hunt down rogue vampires. Yet more heartache enters into the story when some of the characters are killed off. I was shocked by the deaths and hoped that it was a mistake.

It is also important to keep in mind that this is the second book in a trilogy and in order to understand the characters, it is important to read the books in order. According to the author’s web site, book three will be out in April and I can’t wait to see what will happen next.

Xandra’s ship capsizes and she is picked up by a Dragonian slave ship and forced to marry Rayder, in order to keep her safe. Xandra is unaware she is Rayder’s mate and that he is playing a dangerous game with the ship’s Admiral.

In the second book of the Daryk World series, Daryk Rogue gives you more information about both the Dragonians and Magonians and continues to highlight the differences between the two countries. The author brings more intrigue to this story, which keeps the story flowing as you wonder how Rayder is going to pull off his self-imposed mission.

The chemistry between Xandra and Rayder is explosive. The lengths that Rayder goes to protect Xandra is not unrealistic. In some ways, the danger that Xandra and Rayder experience is not unlike the stories we learned about the Old West as we grew up. I liked the way the author resolved the situation after all the twists.

I found some of the secondary characters intriguing and am looking forward to learning more about them in the future. The introduction of a female Daryk One makes you realize that every society has exceptions within and how, sometimes prejudices can have unintended consequences.

You will need to read this series in order, as you will need the background of each book to get a clear idea of what is going on within the Dragonian society. Not only am I looking forward to the next book, I will be reading this series again.

Leon never thought that a gaming convention would be the place to spend quality time with his best friend, Ian, but when he finds himself alone with him in his hotel room, late at night, after an exhausting day battling, things take a very interesting turn. At first he is very cautious, as the last thing Leon wants is to lose his best friend so soon after splitting up with his lover Peter. No, Leon will gladly keep his fantasies about Ian to himself if it means keeping his close. When Ian shows signs that perhaps Leon doesn’t need to use his imagination any more however, Leon doesn’t think twice.

Better Late Than Never is a fun short story about a couple of guys who are trying to figure out exactly what they want out of their friendship. I loved the gaming element and the way it connected Leon and Ian as it took me back to a time when I used to hang out with friends playing games and being comfortable in my own skin. Although there was potential to their relationship, I wish there had been more development and exploration of the characters. I found it difficult to connect to Leon or Ian in any substantial way as there wasn’t enough detail, which in turn, unfortunately, led to the feeling of things being over before they really had a chance to begin.

Luke and Simon met while in college and have been together every since. When Luke returned home to take over the family ranch, Simon was right there with him. Now, ten years later, the men are learning just who their friends really are.

Morning Report by Sue Brown was a very good story. Luke and Simon have been in a relationship for ten years. Although they live in a small Texas town, the men believed that as long as they did not flaunt their relationship, everything was fine. When the new minister shows up and things changed, the men’s lives changed as well.

This is a story that has a realistic feel to it. The stress felt by not only the main characters, but also many of their family and employees, is wonderfully portrayed by the author. All the emotions Simon and Luke portray are believable and readers will understand Luke’s difficulty in forgiving their so-called friends. Unfortunately, the men also have to face problems on the ranch, as a result of the sudden bigotry. Just as unfortunate is the fact that these are all problems that many have to face in reality.

Morning Report is not all angst, though. Luke and Simon are deeply in love and the strong chemistry between them leads to some intense sex scenes. Readers should be aware that there are moments of light BDSM in the story, as well.

While the ending of Morning Report seemed a little rushed, that will not keep me from looking for more stories by this author.

Detective Baxter Alexander and his detective partner are at the courthouse waiting to testify when they are summoned to meet with Assistant District Attorney Cameron Hamilton. Already stressed, Baxter is not looking forward to meeting Cameron alone, the one man Baxter has secretly desired for over a year.

Granite: A Rocky Start is a sweet budding romance story. The storyline gives an overview into the constant pressures involved in law enforcement. Baxter is openly gay if asked. Nevertheless, there is no noticeable indication of his sexuality. Baxter assumed Cameron is straight until Cameron’s angry outburst during their meeting. Cameron announces that he is gay. Expecting trouble from Baxter because of this revelation, Cameron is stunned when Baxter asked for a dinner date. Between their jobs, family and unforeseen events, Baxter and Cameron can only manage a few stolen kisses along with one cherished night of intimacy. G.H. Technology and change has never been high on Bliss Drake’s list of favorite things. When her computer goes into the white light, Bliss is forced to replace it. While having an anxiety attack in the middle of the electronics store, Bliss is jolted back to reality by a handsome, young man.

Between his work and his pets, Brad Hoffman has been out of the dating game for a while. When a sexy, wild eyed woman asks for his help, Brad realizes he wants to help her with more than her software problems. The more time he spends with Bliss, the more Brad realizes he wants her in his life permanently.

Opposites attract and heat up the pages in Bits ‘n’ Bytes. Bliss is a woman who enjoys all the action and comforts of city life. When she meets a geeky hunk who enjoys the outdoors, she isn’t sure if they will mesh outside the bedroom. That theory quickly gets shot to hell at the speed of light. Even though Bliss’ ex-lover creates drama that nearly destroys their budding relationship, Brad and Bliss can’t stay separated for long.

Sam Cheever made me laugh more than a few times while I read about the couple’s first date. It was the most delightfully unexpected debacle I’ve seen in a while. I felt so bad for poor Bliss, I could almost visualize the entire scene. At one point when she appeared to reject Brad, I swear my heart nearly broke. My faith in Bliss grew once I realized she wasn’t being selfish at all, but was proving the depth of her feelings for Brad. This story will bring a smile to your face, just as it did to mine.

Throughout the centuries of his long life, Gabriel Panlong has seen many things but on a trip into town to buy horse supplies, he doesn’t expect to come across two gorgeous men, having sex in an alley. The sight of them in the midst of their passion turns him on but he feels guilty watching, so hurries away to finish his errands.

When he returns to the area, he hears the sound of fists thudding on flesh and smells the unmistakable scent of blood. After rescuing the two small men from the five larger ones beating them, Gabriel takes them back to his ranch to heal, where he learns Neil and Ryan had escaped from an underground slave ring. Can Gabriel teach two men who’ve suffered years of abuse to trust again? Can they teach him to open his heart to love?

Dragon Mine is the first release in Joyee Flynn’s new North American Dragon series and it’s set in an alternative world where the reality of dragons is acknowledged and human females are almost extinct. Both these interesting and unique features pulled me immediately into the story where the author wove an enjoyable paranormal tale filled with little unexpected tidbits, including the rather strange reproductive habits of the dragon race – male-mate pregnancy. Some readers may find this part of the plot a turn-off, but I found it distinctive and not in the least bit offensive – just odd.

The story starts off quickly and flows smoothly from beginning to end, all while seamlessly integrating three very different personalities. There’s plenty of background information on what led to the societal situation of the day and how Neil and Ryan ended up as sex slaves. There’s plenty of sex between the three and I’m shocked to admit, maybe too much in a book of this length. The passion and desire between Neil, Ryan and Gabriel is hot and intense, giving each man what he needs. Still, all isn’t a bed or roses for our two escapees, so watch for a violence filled scene that threatens the happiness the trio is building together. No other spoiler…read and find out!

Watch for the next book in the series, Dragon Ours, featuring Sheriff Todd Zelner, who is briefly introduced in this release.

Starfucker is a very short story designed to generate arousing entertainment. The storyline illustrates a future that is a step up in the escort business. The Madame is now a company. The clones are programmed to have sexual endurance, as well as to be faithful to the buyer. The buyer can choose their desired image. The sex is sizzling; however, this is not a love story with a happy ending. Michael Willhoite’s Starfucker is solely a quick stimulant for fans of gay erotica.

Keith Moss has wanted the same woman for as long as he can remember. The circumstances and the timing had always been wrong. Now that he’s home from the Marines, Keith is going to claim what is his.

Telly Johnson might be heavily pregnant, but that doesn’t stop her desire for Keith when she picks him up at the bus station. The letters they shared over the months have given Telly hope. She knows Keith wants to protect her, but is it possible that he really wants her?

Even after sizzling sex, Telly doubts Keith’s feelings. Sharing her body with him is easy but sharing her baby and all the baggage that comes with her instant family is too much for Telly to handle. Keith wants to be more than friends with benefits and is hurt that Telly doubts his sincerity. If he doesn’t lay all his cards on the table, Keith could lose her forever.

Pregnancy is different for every woman, and it definitely has undesirable moments. Emily Ryan-Davis has done a fantastic job of weaving romance and reality in All He Wants, the latest addition to the Merry Kinkmas series. Telly is pregnant and not with Keith’s child. Keith isn’t put off by this fact, not even when he discovers some disturbing truths about the baby’s father. How can you not love a man like this? I understood Telly wanting to stand on her own feet and thinking that Keith only wanted to be her safety net. I enjoyed the glimpse into their past as teenagers, because it gave me the feeling that they were destined to be together. This story is too touching and tantalizing to be passed up.

Brother Euan has always been skeptical about the existence of demons. He believes that when Ajen and Kara made the world, they made it a world that people could understand. However, Euan’s beliefs and assumptions about the world are shattered when Leon of Tremea arrives at the monastery to investigate the reports of demonic activity.

The Demon Catcher is an intriguing short story set in a fantasy world. The well written plot has a religious overtone that is also realistic in today’s world. The setting is The Ajenite monastery, which has an early Christian feel. Raised by the monks, long ago Euan realized he was gay so he remained at the monastery for safety. Euan was able to ignore his illicit thoughts until he met Leon. Leon is attracted to Euan plus he requested Euan’s aid in investigating the tunnels that Euan is well familiar with. Leon and Euan found an opportunity to explore their sexual desires, as well as resolve the chaos taking place around them. Lesley Hastings has created a fascinating saga that I enjoyed.

Hunter is on the way to meet his future in-laws but the way Maxwell is acting has Hunter wondering if the trip is really a good idea after all. When it looks like family opposition is alive and well, will that bring the men’s relationship to a halt, or pull them closer together?

I loved Taking You Home by author Cooper Davis. When I’m reading, I like to follow the main characters on their journey of discovery, something you don’t usually get to do with already established couples. Yet, in this story you still get to do that, as Hunter and Maxwell are still learning what they mean to each other. Since the connection between these two is so strong, the chemistry between them is intense. Although Hunter is new to being gay, he is, in many ways, more comfortable with himself than Maxwell. Unfortunately for Maxwell, lack of family acceptance has caused him to deny all that he is. Maxwell fears losing Hunter when he realizes that Maxwell has been keeping secrets is not only understandable, but comes across realistically. I love the way Hunter stands up for his man, working hard to make sure nothing, and no one, ever hurts Maxwell again.

There is some jumping back and forth between the past and present, though not enough to throw off the story, but just enough to let you in on the couple’s beginning. I would have liked to have had a flashback of the first step that moved the men from friends to lovers, though. There are many great scenes in this story, such as the introduction of Maxine, or the bachelor party, and some wonderful secondary characters, all of which help make this a wonderful story and will bring the author many new fans.

Dylan Anderson left his ordinary life behind and has been living openly as the pampered and protected lover of Russian mob boss, Yvgeny Mosko. There isn’t any doubt he cares for his powerful lover, but it’s mostly an arrangement of convenience, allowing him to live a life of luxury. But lately, Dylan’s been thinking about his age and at thirty-six, wondering how much longer he can keep the interest of Yvgeny.

Life changes dramatically when Dylan is kidnapped and beaten and upon his recovery, Mosko retaliates viciously on everyone involved, even William, who tried to help him. Unwilling to let William be hurt further, Dylan helps him escape and the two flee cross-country in a stolen car.

As the days pass and William heals of his injuries, both men come to realize that neither are what or who they appear on the surface and they yearn for what only the other can provide. Yet underneath their newfound happiness lurks the fear of knowing that Mosko never gives something up he consider his.

The Pharaoh’s Concubine is the newest release by talented multi-published author Z. A. Maxfield. This author is an auto-read for me, so I didn’t pay much attention to the blurb before I started reading. I admit that the unusual premise caught me by surprise. As I got involved in the intricate plot, I wasn’t certain how Ms. Maxfield could successfully pull all the threads of her story together, but she did and did it well.

Dylan and William are about as different as different can be – age, family history, cultural background, education…everything. Yet, Ms. Maxfield somehow starts the relationship of these two men under horrible circumstances and through the weaving of her literary magic, blends their lives into that of a believable couple. Yes, there are rocky spots in their developing relationship but there are tender, caring and loving moments, too.

There are supporting characters who add great depth, family history, personal background and interest to the story. I particularly loved the introduction of Desiree, Dylan’s twin, just one of many people from his past who play an important plot role. I’m not going to give away the ending but be aware that Yves and his long past relationship with Dylan plays a significant part.

Being the backbone of the Delta Force Team, Jack Hunter sucks at personal relationships. His job is his total focus and neglecting his family life causes him to miss out on keeping his bond with his daughter. While on a rescue mission, Jack leads his team in to get the hostages and finds them under a serious attack. He can’t remember everything that happens during the attack, but Jack is determined to prove he’s not crazy. One face keeps flashing back to him and no one believes him when he tells them what happened.

After Jack goes AWOL, he is onto a lead regarding the missing man he shot and heads out to see the wife of the faceless man. What he finds is more than he expected and finds himself protecting Lauren Collins from assassins. During this time, he comes to realize that she is totally innocent of the trouble her soon-to-be-ex-husband has caused. All Jack has to do is figure out how to tell her, hoping that she or her twin boys will not hate him for killing her husband.

This is truly an incredible story in the Silent Warrior series. It had me on the edge of my seat until I finished reading the last page and I found myself wanting to look at the end to see what happened. The fascination at the audacity of the villain is quite unbelievable and I was a little disturbed at his ability to murder, without thought of taking a human life. When Jack and his team found out the identity of the villain, it’s a surprise to them but they will make sure to eliminate him quickly.

I must say that Ms. Saint really out did herself on writing Collateral Damage. The scenes were described in detail, giving life to every page for the reader and there were times when I was laughing or rolling my eyes at the antics of the two main characters. Jack and Lauren are meant for each other but ended up on detour routes before they finally met.

I saw Jack as a very strong willed, determined solider who made his job his first priority, leaving his daughter and bitter ex-wife second. When he was faced with the twin boys, he began to see what he was missing in his life and promised himself to reestablish the bond he had with his daughter. I am patiently waiting for the next book in the Silent Warrior series.

Sabertooth tiger shifter Avery Donovan is injured and on the run, looking for a safe haven after he escapes the freak circus where he was held captive. Traveling across a ranch in southern Montana, he detects the unique scent of his human mates, Cord Hartwell and Tyson Fitzgerald. Cord and Ty could not believe their eyes when Avery shifted to human form. However, the sight of his wound immediately set Cord and Ty into action to render medical aid first, and then ask questions later.

Here Kitty, Kitty is the first book in the Purrfect Mates series. This is a wonderful story with heartwarming characters. Avery is a compassionate man. He is not looking for revenge against the people who held him captive; his thoughts are centered on keeping his mates contented. Cord and Ty have secretly been in love with each other for years, although they denied their attraction. The desire to save Avery’s life inspired Cord and Ty to take the necessary steps out of the closet. Here Kitty, Kitty is an amusing tale with plenty of lovemaking, as well as a touch of drama. Erin Sharp has only ever seen her neighbor Dylan as a friend. She loves the relaxing time they spend together, just hanging out and having fun as it allows her to escape the confines of her intense job. A high powered lawyer just craving to make partner, Erin loves what she does and is willing to prove to her boss that she will do anything it takes to get to the top. She just appreciates being able to step back from all the pressure once in a while.

Dylan Crane fell head over heels in love with Erin the moment he first saw her but in the last two years of being neighbors, he seems to have been permanently relegated to friend status. When he spots his chance to prove just how good things could be between them, he’s blown away by Erin’s reaction. It seems both of them have been hiding things from one another but can their relationship survive the change from friendship to something more?

The Geek Next Door delves into the lives of two best friends physically drawn to each other in a way that will change their relationship forever. There is a very nice flow to this story, as well as some good relationship advice about accepting your partner for who they are and not trying to change them into the person you want them to be. Dylan is a lovable guy whose unrequited love for the object of his desire pulled at the heart strings. Erin is a woman who certainly delights in the power she can command, both in the office and in the bedroom, but Dylan can bring out her more relaxed, fun side. They are seemingly well matched, although as their relationship develops, we start to see that perhaps Erin is not as perfect as Dylan first though. Some bad choices are made and there is a shift of power as Erin realizes just how much her friend means to her. I really liked the message of acceptance that both characters learn by the end of this story.
