Finding the owner of one of those shops dead and mutilated doesn't loosen her tongue. Randi tries to help her husband with the investigation, much to his dismay. Murder is dangerous business.

Kinsey Green is the small English village where three murders occur in four days. The small town gossip and characters are clearly portrayed. Detective Chief Inspector Wills Beecham is not happy to have David working on the crime in his turf.

The first victim was a ladies man and the women he was reportedly involved with were varied and diverse: an ex-model, a mannish gardener, a socialite and a hausfrau. Their husbands are equally unique, and there's a female business partner who stands to profit from his death.

A tattooed hairdresser and Randi's adorable son Jamie are also part of the well-written supporting cast.I liked the sense of place here and found this more real than the gadabout Europe nature of the earlier book. Ryan did a great job unraveling this complex tale just a bit at a time to keep the reader fully involved. The climax is fast-paced and harrowing. It's a great action packed suspense novel.

Wealthy patrons willingly wait for weeks to have Jamie’s craftsmen work on their expensive toys. Free time is spent with a few good friends and he lives in a great beach house. The problem is that he’s lonely, unhappy, and tired of attracting twinks who only want to be with him because of his money and position. His last lover, Ben, has found someone else, and Jamie can’t get past the hurt of losing him. Jamie may be great at fixing cars, but he’s a bust when it comes to fixing his heart.

Ryan Van Alstyn has problems of his own. His last partner died, and even though it’s been a couple of years, he’s still reluctant to start a new relationship with someone else because losing them is too painful. Yet he, too, is a lonely and unhappy man. When he meets Jamie at the restaurant where he works as a waiter, he’s attracted to the burly, friendly man but chooses to ignore it to avoid the possible pain. Jamie is persistent and despite Ryan’s mind being reluctant to try for love again, his heart tells him it’s time.

OC Pride: Crossing the Line is the second in Ms. Vaughan’s current series. While on the surface it would appear that these two men are different, they are, in truth, very similar. Maybe not physically or in life experiences, but where it counts…in the heart. Both are wounded by hurts from their past; Ryan’s afraid to love again, and Jamie feeling that he’s not worthy enough to be loved at all. While I felt sympathy for Ryan’s fear, it was Jamie’s insecurity and low self-esteem that brought true sadness into the story. She skillfully interjected pieces of their pasts throughout to explain their actions and how it could and would affect their new relationship, without making it sound trite or pathetic

While the sex between Jamie and Ryan was blistering hot, the thing I liked most about this story was that the growing love between these two men was like watching a flower unfold one petal at a time. Their feelings grow, change and evolve, becoming more intense and deeper the further into the story you read. And while I thoroughly enjoyed the entire tale, the true “ah ha” moment was when Ryan realized for the first time how deep Jamie’s feeling of worthlessness went. This well-written jewel covers a wide range of emotions, and at times is so realistically portrayed I could almost believe it was happening in the real world and not in one of fiction. This is one I’ll definitely be re-reading in the future.

Cosmic Scandal is another delightful episode in the Alliance series. For the first time, Myrek desires to follow his heart rather than his duty but Khira knows their love is doomed. Lyndi Lamont continues this fabulous saga of two planets struggle to come together with Myrek older brother to Rulik, who was introduced in the first book Diplomatic Relations. This is a very enjoyable series; I look forward to the next installment.

Jade James has written another wonderful book in this series filled with a few twists and a nice new pair of handcuffs. If you are looking for a ménage with headboard-banging sex, toe-curling orgasms and a happy ending, grab a copy of Stone’s Prisoner.

In this installment the magnificent team of Mychael Black and Shayne Carmichael gives us a peek into the law and order of the vampire society. These are not your average vampires. These vampires have rank and privilege; law breakers are dealt with in a swift and ruthless manner. Yet they are seductive loving protectors to the ones they choose, as Jamie soon learned with Haridan. The attraction was immediate and very intimate. As with all their stories, Sight Unseen is well written with a touch of humor and excellent characters and plot. I look forward to the next thrilling episode.

Soul Bonds is another winner for Ms. Lorenz. I liked both characters, especially Sammi, who had lived through so much heartache and disappointment in his short life. He’s stronger than he’ll admit, or he would have never survived the abuse he’s been through. The paranormal component of his life doesn’t play a leading role in this story; it’s more of a continuing undercurrent that guides the story along its pathway. The only exception to this is the blistering hot, binding attraction between Sammi and Mitchell at the beginning of the story. Here is where the psychic part of Sammi becomes vital to their future.

I would have liked to know more about the real Mitchell than what I gleaned from the pages of the story. What made him tick? How did his old lover die and why? He is a dedicated man who isn’t afraid to accept Sammi and for that, I liked him even more. There were plenty of scenes which I enjoyed, but the ones that truly stick out in my mind are the ones where Mitchell is searching the streets for Sammi, and the outstandingly crafted clinic scene where Sammi went in for a medical check-up. These scenes shine.

Barbarian's Bride has a storyline laced with action, suspense, treachery, and most importantly -- love. If you have a thing for warriors, kings, and damsels in distress then Barbarian's Bride is a book worth reading and keeping.

Lady Sophia Donovan has a thing about smoke and fire. It has to do with ritual abuse from her former lover Damian Venkman. Now he's dead and she is suddenly wealthy and powerful. Sophia has a soft spot for animals. She goes to a farm auction and, with her friend Peri, buys all the cows, calves, and goats. Then her clothes catch on fire -- for the first time. Her combustibility and the secrets of her past form the basis for this intriguing mystery.

Camellia Perigord Mackintosh-Hastings, sometimes called Peri, is Sophia's best friend. Strong-willed feminist Camellia took Sophia on as a "client" when the latter was in a women's shelter, before Sophia was rich. There are references to Camellia's other cases and computer hacking, but these are never really explained. Camellia's husband Jake is a spy for the Agency and they have a baby named Pieter.

Virile Marco Willis is Sophia's lover and Jake's partner in the Agency. Marco is the only one without money, and this proves an obstacle in his relationship with the fiery redhead. He wants to protect Sophia, but neither of them understands a relationship well enough for it to go smoothly.

Sophia's uncle may have a motive to harm her. Gerald Beaumont was hurt financially when she inherited and came close to being investigated in an arms case. And could Damian somehow return from the dead? There's an immense mansion with a church and tunnels, as well as a burial area to be explored. Author Knight also explores the innate differences between men and women in relationships.

The characters are all quirky. The amount of money involved made it a bit tough for me to relate to the cast. This is interesting, but confusing. This is a stand alone sequel to an earlier work by Knight, In Trysts. There are references to the earlier plot, which make sense. And there are references to non-essential characters that could have been deleted. This book reads well on its own, but I’d recommend reading the earlier volume first.

I absolutely loved Thoroughly Tempted. Sierra and Wesley have both run from the “c” word for so long that they knew deep down this affair would leave no room for escape. Their chemistry was a perfect blend of erotic and playfulness and the resort made the perfect backdrop for this love affair. Ms. James has written a fantastic story that is sure to be a pleaser. If you enjoy cops, beaches, and sassy women then Thoroughly Tempted is just what you are looking for.

When she is whisked into the past she is confused by the sight of Will as she was just reading about in newspaper clipping about his death. This is not exactly the house her grandmother talked about all those years during her visits and now Monica has to decide whether to keep the house or sell it. Then she can get back to her fiancé who has made wedding plans for them instead of asking her.

Almost Home is written in two different centuries which makes the story even more appealing. This book is filled with so much character, love and mystery I wanted to reread it again to make sure I did not miss anything. The love between Monica and Will was so very genuine and lasting, they could survive everything thrown at them. Gabrina Garza has done a wonderful job of writing about love that will stand for all times.

These are the vampires allergic to the sun and who need vast amounts of human blood to survive. It’s these same vampires who brought about the near extinction of Cadge and Teague’s people, including their parents.

Teague is a loner, a man who doesn’t get close to anyone aside from his brother and that includes the men he takes as casual lovers. He doesn’t do cuddling, kissing or getting to know his one-night-stands outside of their brief intimate encounters. Teague doesn’t need anyone who could stick their noses in his business or to discover his secrets. All that changes when he gets sexually involved with young club attendee, Kyle Drake. Teague can’t get enough of Kyle, and looks forward to their weekly trysts…that is until Kyle unexpectedly disappears from his life.

A brutal death in the club by a rogue Nightwalker thrusts Teague and his brother into a dangerous position, threatening not only their livelihood, but their very existence. Then Teague finds his lover is missing, and it’s up to him to save Kyle from a ruthless killer before it’s too late.

Secrets and Lies is another intriguing and well-written paranormal story by talented Ms. Young. On the surface, it appears to be a typical vampire tale, and then she adds in the twist of their ‘real’ origin, giving her story a unique spin I’ve never read before. Teague is an intense, sexy and interesting man, long used to depending on no one but his brother. I loved the description of Teague’s unrest and confusion of his feelings for Kyle and his almost overwhelming desire to protect him. These two lovers make a good counterpoint to each other and they’re obviously perfect for each other, even as Teague struggles not to admit his feelings for Kyle. Together they are passionate, sexy and erotic.

The secondary characters are few; mainly brother Cadge and old friend Red, but they play important roles in this fast-pace vampire tale. Cadge is withdrawn and angry since the death of his lover five years before and Red seems to be the only person able to reach past his grief. Their relationship was never explained and would make a great next book if this is going to be a series.

Bestirring and bananas barely begin to describe The Wild, Wild Anybody’s Guess: Aloha! Aloha gave Imax a run for his money and I nearly dissolved when she let him catch her. Opposites not only attract when a vampire prince fiends for a Southern sister, they make the perfect couple. Aloha shines bright enough to make the sun seem dim in comparison, and I don’t mean just her outfits. As powerful as she is, Aloha submits to Imax, while wrapping him around her little finger. Thank you Jayha Leigh for always keeping your female characters equal to their Alpha, but smart enough to know when to let the man think he has won. Imax is a true Alpha gentleman to the core and he loves like he fights… hard. Imax takes Aloha home to meet his parents and all hell breaks loose. This is the most show-stopping scene in the story. Off the wall weddings are becoming my favorite thing, thanks to Jayha Leigh’s brilliance. The ending is a perfect explosive beginning for Andrew and Silana’s story and I can’t wait! This second story in the Wild series is a must read all the way.

Emma Rathburn is not your ordinary mycology expert. Her lab partners accept her episodes as scary, but interesting. Her step-brother Jock Jamieson both hates and fears her. And policeman Harley Chalmers is fascinated -- in spite of the rats and ghosts.

Harley goes to check on Emma when she calls the police about a prowler. She's done this at least eighteen times before, from nearly as many locations. And the prowler always turns out to be of the nonliving variety. Harley investigates and is followed by a dog -- a dog that's been dead for a week. He sees a man he knows has been murdered. Then comes his first experience with the rats. It's a rampage worthy of any horror movie, and it is somehow triggered by Emma.

This is an action packed horror thriller. There's a ghost-busting crew headed by Renaldo Rabbit, deliverer of party goodies. He's teamed with a medium in love with his connection to the other world. Emma's coworkers include an almost Olympic ice skater and a gal who has used her psychic powers to find bodies for the police.

Emma tries to be as ordinary as possible in this highly extraordinary tale. She is a likable main character and Harley, while out of his depth in the paranormal world, is a guy you have to root for. There's a secondary romance as well, and some insight into the nature of true evil.

It's easy to picture the horrific culmination on the big screen, although I felt it was overly long for the book. If paranormal horror is your thing, this book will keep you involved until the very end.

Duncan watches until William comes up behind him and pulls Duncan away. Once they reach home, William and Duncan engage in a mutual seduction. When the king commands William to marry, Duncan cannot bear losing William and runs away.

The Squire is a wonderful romance between a knight and his squire. Shawn Lane presents a well written, passionate saga that warms the heart. Duncan thought William preferred fair maidens; William just became aware that Duncan had an interest in intimate relationships. Together they discover their true feelings and desires. I greatly enjoyed this impressive story.

Jack Thorndike is one of the worst rakes in London and has become completely bored with the ton. He is the second son of a Duke and hates the fact that he is compared to his father. Once he realizes how he feels about Angela, he must tell her everything before he can go further with their lives.

After reading Duke Pretender I was left a little unsatisfied, expecting more from this story. The characters were very entertaining from beginning to end, with their involvement in each others lives. With all the mystery surrounding the people of the quiet town, there was not a moment when you were not thinking about who actually committed murder. Sharon Lanegran has written a historical romance filled with suspense, it keeps you reading to see if you are right about who was killing off the townspeople.

Asher and the Threesome picks up one week after their elevator romp and Asher’s lover Derek liked the thrill and excitement so much, he tells Asher he’d like to try something different. Asher’s not too pleased with his lover’s suggestion and allows Derek to leave early for work on less than the best of terms.

While home alone, Asher starts wondering what exactly Derek may have been suggesting and does some research on the internet. When Derek returns home from the bar, he’s brought along his bartender, Dean. Will Asher be able to accept and go along when he realizes why Derek brought Dean back with him?

Not being a big fan of ménage a’ trios stories, I was a little hesitant about reviewing this book. Asher, though, is an irresistible character and I just had to find out about his next adventure. With that being said, I am thrilled not to have missed this book as Asher and the Threesome is a fun, sexy, scorching read! Once again Zoe Nichols had me hooked from the start and able to feel the emotions that are still growing between Asher and Derek. I thoroughly enjoyed the ride and hope this author has more adventures planned for Asher. I happily recommend Asher and the Threesome to all fans of the m/m genre and as a must read for fans of ménage a’ trios.
