Gray Benedict had dreams of someday meeting a compatible
human male, someone he could share a loving relationship with. But the only
other male in Gray’s household was his robot Kavan. Thinking of manbots as just
machines, Gray never considered that Kavan could experience emotions until
Kavan kissed Gray, as well as offering to fulfill all of Gray’s sexual desires.
Manbot is an intriguing plot of man-made machines
evolving to mirror human thoughts and actions. Kavan has the ability to express
affection to Gray’s cat as well as to understand Gray’s non-verbal moods. Gray
felt guilty because of his growing emotional attachments to a machine. Manbot
also touches on sensual intimacy, politics, legal rights and prejudice.
Scarlet Blackwell has created a fascinating saga that I
enjoyed immensely.
