Twins Coby and Bruce never dreamed their band, Patchwork Heaven, would take off the way it did.  Now that they have the fame, they also have the problems.  For Bruce, it’s staying away from temptation in the form of drugs.  For Coby, it’s a stalker he can’t seem to shake.  Thankfully, Gregor is there to watch over and protect Coby, and soon the attraction they try to hide from each other is blazing out of control.

Patchwork Heaven is a new book by author Jaime Samms.  This story pulled me in right from the beginning.  Coby is the lead singer in the country music band, Patchwork Heaven.  What started out as fun is starting to take its toll on Coby and he isn’t sure how much longer he can hold on.  Not only is he starting to crack under the pressure of being a star, he also has to deal with the worry he has that his twin will return to drugs as well as the fear that one day his stalker will get to him when he least expects it.  The author does a great job bringing Coby’s fears, confusion, and, of course, lust out in a realistic way.  His attraction to his bodyguard, Gregor, is strong but the older man is a true professional and keeps his feelings for the musician on an employee/employer level.

Gregor wants to make Coby his, but he’s too much of a professional to step over the line.  When things start spiraling out of control, however, the two men find themselves coming together in a way that really heats up the pages.  Coby has a lot of issues and quirks that keep him from really enjoying life.  Gregor is all control and, while he never comes out and says it, he has Dom written all over him.  This makes him a perfect match for Coby and Gregor’s strengths enables him to bring calmness to the younger man that is really needed.

While I enjoyed the interaction between the two men, one of the things that stood out, for me, was the effect this new relationship had on Bruce, Coby’s twin.  As twins, there is a specially closeness between Coby and Bruce. The connection allows them to feel the way the other does, good or bad.   As the oldest twin, Bruce has always taken care of Coby and, while he would never want to be without his twin, the craziness that goes on in Coby’s head is sometimes too much for Bruce to handle.  When Gregor steps into the picture, Bruce is finally given a reprieve.  You can almost feel the relief that Bruce feels because of this.  I like that the author gave Bruce and the other members of the band a bit of side story in Patchwork Heaven

The mystery surrounding Coby’s stalker will keep the reader entertained, wondering just who he may be.  I was surprised by the way he was able to get to Coby and the fact that it was so easy.

The author does a wonderful job wrapping this story up in a way that the readers will like.  This is one story I plan on reading again in the future.
