Toby’s pack is in trouble and when his Alpha sends him out for help, the last thing Toby expected to find was his mate. While Toby is thrilled with this new change in his life, the problems with his pack still exist. Toby doesn’t realize that the issues facing his pack are worse than ever. Will the little beagle’s mate be able to help or will he lose his family so soon after finding his mate?

Sheriff Found had me laughing from the beginning. The shifters in this new series are not your typical wolf or feline; instead, the pack is made up of puppy shifters. While that may come across a little hinkey, fans of shape-shifter stories will understand that there is a difference between the characters in human form and in their animal form. The author also does a wonderful job explaining the ins and outs of the pack, which answers any questions the reader may have. As for the main characters in Sheriff Found, I absolutely fell in love with Toby, who even in human form has all the characteristics of a hyper puppy, and Randall, who makes the perfect Alpha for Toby. The way the shifters mark their mates not only had me laughing out loud, but also made me wonder how the author came up with that particular idea. The chemistry between the men comes through clearly, as does the deep love that springs up almost at once.

Since this is just the first book in the Hiding Hounds series, there are a few loose ends that are sure to be addressed in future stories. During the course of Sheriff Found, the author introduces two secondary characters who will soon be back in their own story and I can’t wait. This has all the earmarks of a fun series that readers will be reading over and over again.
