Alexei has left the ‘Life’ and is ready for a little peace and quiet. Only he never planned on a pack of werewolves, or a persistent human, to complicate things.

Ms. Madison’s paranormal romance, Crying for the Moon, is a fun read that is sure to hold the readers attention.  From the beginning, it is evident that this book is slightly different from other paranormal stories.  For starters, the vampires in Crying for the Moon are not the same as those we usually see, giving the story a fresh feel.  Then there is Tate and, while readers may be able to guess one of the vet’s secrets, I am sure the other will leave the reader just as surprised as Alexei was.  Finally, there are the ties between the main and secondary characters that enrich this story.  Whether it is the developing romantic connection between Tate and Alexei, which really starts to heat up once Alexei overcomes some of his issues, or the friendship the two men have with Nick and his pack, the connection between the various characters plays an important part in the story.

There is, of course, some angst thrown in when Alexei’s ex shows up.  Victor is what you would expect in a vampire.  He’s manipulative, greedy and plain evil and I loved when he got his comeuppance.   I only hope that this is just the first in many stories the author has planned for this group, as it felt as if there was still more stories to be told.
