Visions can be a terrible thing, especially when they foretell how you will meet your death. For Fell Harwick, half-incubus and witch, this is his inheritance. Fell’s future executioner arrives sooner than he expects when wounded shifters litter Fell’s garden; among them is hybrid dragon shifter, Jett Lasko.

Death by Dragon is a well paced action packed paranormal mafia fantasy set in Des Moines. The vampires want complete control of the city and everyone in it -  those who oppose will be eliminated. Fortunately there is a governing group known as the Keepers of Silence, who police the paranormal community. The Keepers’ goal is to keep humans oblivious to the real creatures associated with folklore.

The characters are fascinating; especially Fell, who is amusingly animated in his interactions with others. Jett is a stern equal rights fighter but he hates killing. Although Jett has no problem with Fell being half a witch, he fears Fell’s incubus side. The main personality trait Fell and Jett share besides their attraction to each other is that they are both extremely compassionate men.

Madeleine Ribbon has created an exceedingly impressive saga that I enjoyed immensely. The main focus of the storyline is on the detailed vicious conflicts between factions, but there are also moments of incredibly sensual intimacy illustrated.
