Alek is a Trueblood Vampire, and like others of his genetic line, he’s on the run and hiding from the powerful Vampire Council, who hate what they are. This also explains why he hasn’t seen his family in nearly two hundred years. His enemies have somehow found him, and he’s been attacked and thrown in a deep cave to die. It’s while waiting to die, a silver blade still lodged in his aorta, that he encounters Jo when she falls down a shaft and onto his lap. He can’t believe his good luck when Jo agrees to help him by pulling out the knife, and then allows him to use her blood to strengthen himself enough to save both their lives.

Jo Carter is going out of her mind and the reason is for five days out of each month she has an overwhelming craving for sex. It doesn’t matter what the man looks like, what his size or even his shape or smell; she needs the sex and the desire is only getting stronger. It’s while she’s out running, trying to exhaust herself, when she accidentally falls into a hole, landing on top of a dying man. Except he’s not human, he’s a vampire and he needs her blood to heal himself or they’ll both die, stranded in an out-of-the-way cave.

With Falling for You, the second in her Trueblood series, Ms. Elsborg has once again drawn her readers into the dark, dangerous and secretive world of a pureblood Vampire on the run. The characters of Jo and Alek are likable and sexy, and I loved that Ms. Elsborg brought the worlds of werewolves and vampires together in this fast-paced and well-plotted paranormal romance. But this tale of love found isn’t just a romance; it’s also a little bit of a mystery. Who are Jo’s real parents? Why is she being followed? Who wants to hurt her and why didn’t she know she was a werewolf? All these questions make for an intriguing plot from beginning to end. Read and enjoy.
