The last thing Andrew Windmark wants to do is see circus freaks. However, the visit to the sideshow is something Andrew will never forget. At the end of the line of cages is Zarson, a big, black jaguar who changes into the shape of a man before Andrew's eyes. Andrew is immediately filled with lust for Zarson and is given the opportunity to experience Zarson’s sexual nature. During their seduction of each other, Zarson formulates a plan for escape and asks the willing Andrew for help. The plan worked; however it was only the beginning of the danger coming for both of them.

Freaks and Saints has a splendid well-written romance plot. The characters are engaging with emotional interaction, a dash of humor and breathtaking intimate scenes. Andrew is the son of a Baptist minister in a small town. Rather than disappoint his parents, Andrew hides his true sexuality, following his mother’s suggestions to date a young woman who is a member of his father’s church. Andrew is extremely considerate of others. While he does not always consider the negative consequence of his good deeds, he is very caring. Zarson, too, is compassionate, though he is more realistic in his point of view. Zarson was a captive being held by a mystical power that he could not break on his own. Able to feel Andrew’s emotions, Zarson and Andrew worked together to gain freedom for both of them, in addition to finding love for each other.
The amazing D. J. Manly has produced an exciting saga with imaginative characters that is expressively touching. Freaks and Saints is an outstanding love story that I thoroughly enjoyed.
