Dustin Jones and his boyfriend Malcolm Rowland have come to a crossroad in their careers. Dustin works as a chef, with an opportunity to advance. Malcolm started out doing community theater and is now an actor in some of Los Angeles’ major venues. When the chance to act on Broadway is presented to Malcolm, he takes it, leaving Dustin in Los Angeles. With each day spent in New York, Malcolm begins to question his decision and how it will affect his relationship with Dustin.

Still The One is the sequel to The Best Gift. In this episode, Dustin and Malcolm have been together for five years. Malcolm is an author of gay romance, in addition to being a theater actor. It had always been a dream of his to be on stage. The experience in New York is an eye opener for Malcolm. He realizes his new friends are superficial and self-absorbed. This is the first time he has been away from Dustin for a long period of time and Malcolm is very lonely. Dustin dreams of becoming the head chef at the restaurant and his dream comes true when the current head chef retires. Dustin is not pleased that Malcolm is so far away; however he will do anything to make Malcolm happy, including encourage him to achieve his goals.

The amazing Shawn Lane has created a wonderfully emotional story of self-discovery. Still The One is an outstanding saga that I enjoyed immensely.
