Actress Kami Evans needs to know why her stepbrother, Channing, would take his own life when he had so much to live for. She decides to take a job with Madam V’s, an escort service used by Channing, hoping to find the culprit responsible for his death. When she walks into Breck’s office for her date with him, her senses are so overwhelmed with emotions, she has to fight against them to do the job she was sent there to do.

Breck Lawson is FBI, working undercover as CEO for his best friend Trevor, who’s in a coma and he’s not finding any information on why Trevor was targeted. His date that evening with Kami, for the fundraiser that had been planned by Trevor, turns out to be more than he expected, because she wowed him. He finds that he wants more from her than a one night stand. What he discovers is that Kami is more than meets the eye and she has a lot of information connected to his investigation. Breck is torn between keeping her close to him because of the investigations and turning off his feelings for her.

Now that I have read Scent of Persuasion, I feel more a part of this series because this is close to real life of the FBI. This is the second book in the Sensory Ops and it is a surprise to know that Breck would be the next character to find love. The one thing I was confused about, until almost the end of the book, is who the villain was and it lead me to believe that there is more than one. It made reading this story more enjoyable with the banter from the whole team.

Ms. Duncan has written an enjoyable story and I am looking forward to who will be her next character falling in love. It was very ingenious of Ms. Duncan to include the DNA testing and mind control, which helps the reader to realize how powerful the villains could become, if not discovered. I truly enjoyed reading this book and am hoping to read about the twins next.
