The King of Ondrican and the Queen of Amazonian hatch a plan to end the feud between their two worlds by having Prince Aren and Kel marry. Kel is drugged and sent to Ondrican on the Choosing ship for the mating ceremony.

When Aren sees Kel he can’t wait to make her his, but Kel is very resistant to the idea she is now his wife. Kel is determined to escape and return to Amazonian.

Courting Kel is full of twists and turns as Kel tries to resist Aren. Keep plenty of ice on hand as you read and know that you will feel like you are a fly on the wall. The give and take between Kel and Aren will remind you of various relationships we all have and the insecurities that come with them. The courting rituals that the author has created keep things hot and heavy between the two. Some of the various rituals may make some readers uncomfortable due to the voyeurism and mention of ménage scenes, but these do nothing to distract from Kel and Aren’s courtship.

Kel and Aren are two very strong people, but nothing like the two main secondary characters that are their parents. The secondary characters add a lot to this story. Through the secondary characters, we learn about both Ondrican and Amazonian and some of the cultural differences that create such a wonderful conflict between Kel and Aren. This is one that will be read again.
