Trevor Young is apprehensive about whether or not he can fit into university life in Los Angeles. At least Trevor’s almost boyfriend Carter is just a few buildings away. Plus, Trevor has a small tin filled with his mother’s special brownies to comfort him. Making friends with his dorm neighbor Julian turns out to be the highlight of Trevor’s college life.

Cardamom: A Taste of Home is a well written, amusing tale of “first time away from home”, along with young romance. The intimate scenes are scorching. The characters are convincing. Trevor is a somewhat awkward gay young man who has not achieved a self confidence level exhibited by Carter, as well as most of the other freshman students. Sensitive about his height and glasses, Trevor considers himself a dork. However, Trevor feels secure enough with Carter to desire a real relationship. Carter has a hedonistic personality. He prefers to have lots of friends with benefits, rather than a boyfriend.

Considered straight with a girlfriend, Julian is a mystery to the other dorm residents. When Trevor has a minor accident that required medical attention, it is Julian who came to Trevor’s rescue. Recognizing Julian’s kindhearted temperament, Trevor and Julian immediately became the best of friends. Winnie Jerome has created a humorous, as well as incredibly sizzling, saga that requires a cool down period, in addition to a taste for brownies.
