Fireworks have always driven him crazy. Deke puts it down to the werewolf in him but every time one goes off, he has to work really hard not to start howling and barking at the sky – something you really don’t want to be doing when you are out in public. This is why he and Kasey are inside this Fourth of July.

Oh, the fireworks don’t affect vampires the same way, but Kasey always sticks buy his lover, however irrational Deke’s fears may be. It seems as though just being behind closed doors isn’t going to cut it tonight though, so it’s a good thing Kasey knows just how to distract Deke from the window. There’s nothing like ties and a whip to remind a guy that not all things explosive need to be feared.

Fireworks are a good snap-shot in the lives of two very interesting characters with a lot of potential for development. In a very short space of time, the author created scorching chemistry between Deke and Kasey, as well as an intriguing history, illustrated well by the intensity of the erotic scenes. I would love to read more about what has gone on in their pasts; what brought them together and the power struggle that must have occurred at one stage or another. I can only imagine what these two have got up to; the ups and downs of the relationship but it is apparent from this short story that they have it bad for each other and have for some time.
