Shelly is one of Heath’s sister’s best friends and he has never really noticed her until the day his sister leaves with her mate. Heath does not like the way his brothers talk to Shelly and decides to follow her to apologize. Heath is basically blindsided by his feelings for her.

Shelly has always tried to walk the straight and narrow because of her family’s reputation and knows the town thinks she’s the same way. She has always wanted Heath but thinks he is out of reach. In the meantime, she ends up helping Heath handle trouble that is again brewing in Banff.

Feather Possessed continues to build on the story of a family of owls in Banff in this second story of the Raptors Revealed series. Heath and Shelly are both strong characters, though Shelly tries very hard to hide her insecurities. The two have a very intense relationship that will keep you fanning yourself as you become part of the story. Ms. O’Clare builds the suspense around the conflict going on between the owls in Banff and the leopards moving in. There are a few surprises toward the end and the clever way the author handles it leaves you waiting for the next chapter of this family.
