Orlando Coppersmith and Jonty Stewart are enjoying the privacy their new home affords them. A request for their crime solving skills brings their quiet respite to a halt. However, the two soon discover that this mystery strikes closer to home, and will resurface painful memories from Jonty’s past. Will Jonty find the culprit while gaining the closure needed to move forward with his life?
Lessons in Power takes us back into the lives of Orlando and Jonty. The camaraderie has moved to content but still in love, as the two men grow closer in their relationship. Their teasing adds a nice dose of laughter to lighten some of the melancholy subject matter of this latest installment of the Cambridge Fellows Mystery series. This was a full-circle event for Jonty, with the past resurfacing. He was having a rough time of it, during this story, and I knew Orlando would be his rock to anchor him through this storm. The mysteries are set in internal twists that aren’t easy to see, but wonderful to watch unfold. I second guessed myself a few times during this story, and was still a bit surprised at the outcome. The erotic moments, strategically placed throughout this moderately paced story, supply just enough heat to reinforce the couple’s bond. I found Lessons in Power to be a delightful read.
