During their brief meeting before James left, Micah developed a crush on James. Nowadays, Micah is a Guardian, a pack member who will never be part of a breeding pair or head his own pack because he is gay. Meeting James again, Micah realizes that the crush is still there and what surprises Micah even more is to discover James is attracted to him also.
His Wolf Heart is a wonderfully romantic tale of two men finding love and understanding together. The well crafted storyline is set in Los Angeles, highlighting the lack of gay rights among werewolves, as well as humans. The characters are believable. Micah accepts his situation as part of life, his center of attention is being part of a family instead of being alone. James rejects the pack laws governing his sexuality, as well as limiting his options on how he should live. James’s return conveys a better understanding on why he left the pack. His family, as well as Micah, is amazed with James’s intellect and fervent viewpoint. The interaction between the characters is realistic with a good emotional balance. This is an outstanding saga that I enjoyed and hope to see more of in the future.
