Jamie Bretton’s veterinary practice has become his entire life. His loneliness is obvious by the handsome doctor’s lack of a smile, but that all changes when the owner of a poisoned Malamute comes for help.

Rob Nichols’ past doesn’t give him room to trust easily but when it comes to his beloved companion, he will gladly ask Jamie for assistance. The men begin a relationship and Rob will have to find a way to tell Jamie the truth – he’s a werewolf.

Interfering friends, a rabid animal control officer, and two loveable dogs made for interesting reading in Kate Roman’s Man and Wolf. Rob and Jamie are both good characters willing to protect one another while building their relationship. Rob didn’t have the hard edge I was hoping to read. With his past, I would have thought he would embrace the hurt and use it to supercharge his overall persona. His sensitivity was sweet at moments and left no doubt his bark was worse than his bite. Jamie’s heart guided him throughout this tale, which was important if they were to make anything positive of their relationship. I’ll have to say I loved the dog. It had wonderful personalities that made me smile. I found the story to be an enjoyable read.
