Cody Donner is not your average werewolf, nor does Cody fit into the thin boundaries of what the pack considers normal. Watching his mate, James Barker, from a distance is the only future Cody can hope for. However, Barker has a different future in mind for Cody. Barker has never agreed with the pack banishing Cody. Therefore, when Barker finds Cody sitting in a bar drinking alone, Barker vows to keep Cody at his side for the rest of their lives.

Marked is a well-paced action plot of two werewolves on the run. The characters are credible. The lovemaking is amazing. Cody and Barker have been mated for ten years. Both were members of a city pack called the Clan. Cody was driven away because of a deformity, though Barker regarded Cody’s difference as special, not a deformity. Cody tries to stay far away from Barker; nevertheless, watching Barker from a distance is the only thing that can ease Cody’s loneliness. Cody feels ashamed that Barker is mated to a defective wolf. Barker feels empty without Cody. Together Cody and Barker explore the possibilities of a cure, finally gaining the answers they seek. However, the Clan refuses to abandon their mission to destroy Cody.

The plot exhibits a realistic representation of social prejudice instigated by a constricted mentality leader, along with the support of his mindless followers. Sean Michael has created an emotionally impressive saga that I vastly enjoyed.
