Wade MacReynolds is an ex-con trying to get his life in order. It doesn’t matter that he was wrongfully convicted, or went through hell while incarcerated. What truly matters is that he enjoys the fresh air of freedom and is willing to do anything legal to keep his ranch. That means paying restitution or being sent back to prison. Now with a water shortage and neighbors who aren’t very neighborly, Wade goes to the one woman who may be willing to help, Lily Barnett the local Brothel Madame.

Lily has had her share of men and their high handedness. So when Wade approaches her, she is more than willing to give him what he needs for a price. While Lily tried to firmly place Wade in the generic box where she places men, she soon discovers that Wade is a different type of cowboy.
Lily and Wade found a mutual need in Ride A Cowboy. They both were hiding from feelings that would make them rely on someone of the opposite sex. Lily was a character after my own heart. She is strong, determined, and able to exist on her own terms in a male dominate era. Wade didn’t allow his pride to get in the way of what he needed most, and learned to work with Lily’s terms for the agreement. Pamela Labud has written a wonderful story with fantastic characters. If you love westerns you will thoroughly enjoy Ride A Cowboy.
